Hey had a quick question. I just replaced the shift linkage assembly on my M2. There was some jerry-rigged linkage on there that kept coming apart so I got a a replacement. I have it set at the factory eye-to-eye length of 4.75". It is nearly impossible to shift now. What gives? I followed the manual procedure... any ideas?

Are the forces pushing on the levers at right angles to the axis of motion?
Perhaps you are off by a spline or two?

Hmmm, all I had replaced was the rod, the rest of the shifter should be the same as before. The only visual cue that I can see is that the rod is a bit shorter than what it replaced. But, maybe that alone threw off the leverage...

If you want to stick with the stock shifter, use the X1 lever. It's longer and gives better leverage.............Charlie
