After a weekend ride the shock on my 2002 S3T is leaking. How is this repaired? Is a rebuild kit available? From who? Must the entire shock be replaced?

Any reputable suspension outfit can redo it.

I'm sure you know, but these all had this problem and should have been addressed under recall. I went through two shocks, replaced each time under warranty years outside the bikes original warranty.

I don't think 2001-2 models with the short shock fell under the shock replacement recall.

You can get the Showa rebuilt, but you'd still have a crappy shock. I got a used Penske and it made me a true believer in quality dampers. The difference in control is amazing, more than I thought possible with just a shock change.

The stock Showa is junk.
