I've got the front and rear wheels in the trunk of my car..intend to get a new set of Metzler ME880s later this afternoon. I've gotten as much as 14k miles on the rear with these tires and always like the performance -- granted I'm not pushing the envelope! Ride is an 01 S3T. Any experience or recommendations with other brands? I liked the Dunlops that were stock, I think they were replaced around 7K miles. | ||

I've been looking at Pilot Roads and Diablo Strada's. Both Sport touring tires with supposedly pretty darn good road hold. And most people are getting 7-10k miles off a set. | ||

Stick to the metzlers, they are the bomb. M-3's are superb. | ||

I've been very happy with my Pilot Roads. Creeping up on 4k miles now (including a track day in the middle of July heat) with plenty of tread left, and I have yet to out ride them. | ||

Thats great mileage. If you are content with the performance why change. On the other hand the is more in the bike that will quick over stress these tyres capabilities. Joe | ||

I am running the new Avon sport touring tires, the AV55 and AV 56 Storm, and I must say, that so far they are GREAT! At the 1,000 mile mark,. they still look brand new, and they feel even better than the Metzeler M1's i was running for the last 3 sets, which I thought were the best tire I had yet. I got 5,000 out of the 1st 2 sets of M1, and 3,000 mi from the last set, which is why I thought I would try the new Avons. | ||

Metzeler Z6 are the best sport-touring tires I've tried. Long-lasting, great handling and very good traction. I ran Dunlop Qualifiers at Road America and Barber last year and they do stick and handle the heat better then Z6s, but they don't even last 1/2 as long. I get 9500 miles on a rear Z6 on a FJR1300, and that was after two track days. | ||

Barry! You backing away from the ME880s? So far I like them on mine. I thought they were squiggly until I realized my suspension was all out of whack after replacing all the parts I needed to.. I gotta learn how to not drop the bike so hard after wheelies! LOL! BC Steve | ||

I like my Bridgestone Battlax Radials. I have a BT 014 on the front and an BT 020 on the rear. I ordered a matching tire for the back and they sent me a BT 020. I think the 020's are a little harder compound. ('99 M2 ) I run Metz 880's on my bagger TT | ||

I just got BT021s (the new improved version of the BT020). So far so good. They're supposed to be an improvement in everyway, included 15% better milage. |
