I have a 1999 S3 and would like to know if anyone knows where the trans vent line is suppose to route. The previous owner had it running under the seat but i can't believe thats right. shop manual doesn't mention it at all.}}

Mine went straight up then back down and dumped in front of the tire on the swingarm. When I was trying to find the source of oil leaking (turned out to be the shock) I routed it up and under the seat.

Thanks for the input, It just didn't seem the right place to route it. I guess i'll leave well enough alone.

make sure you're careful when you wash it not to spray water into that hose. i found out the hard way!

I think i'm going to put a vent cap on it like they use on trucks rear axle vent line. The person that i bought the bike from actually had added about two feet of hose and ran it under the tail and back toward the front. I had to much of a kink in it and it blew the oil fill plug right out
