I was wondering if the rubber ring on the top of the internal damper assy was a little ripped would it cause problems.It says in the service manual that the whole assy has no replacement parts and you would have to buy the whole assy.Thanks

orings of the oil resistant variety can be sourced from an industrial gasket house.
Neopreme will not work, EPDM / BUNA / VITON will with Viton being best and MOST! expensive,
