Its nice to see the bike finished and being ridden as much as possible. It fits together so seamlessly that it looks like I should be able to buy it at a dealer. I mean this in the highest regard BTW. Absolutely stunning, great job. Its been my pleasure to watch this from start to finish here on Bweb. Thanks much for letting me in on your project. Simply wonderful.

great job! like everyone's been saying, it looks like a factory built bike.
You truly do great work, and it shows!

G'day all : )

Just letting you know that my Buell is going flawlessly. I have just fitted a new rear tyre, It's a Dunlop Qualifier. I've done nearly 3000k's since being back on the road. I've booked my holidays for the Phillip Island Moto GP which should see me doing around 6500k's for the trip! I'm currently making a catch can for the cylinder sludge, I'll post some pictures shortly. I hope you receive the bracket soon Blake and enjoy the Aussie Rum ;)

Cheers
Jodie

Jodie...did I read somewhere that the swing arm conversion increased wheelbase? Or should I put down the crack pipe?

Yes the wheel base is longer, Stock wheel base is 55” (1397mm) it is now 57”(1448mm) Seat height is 850mm(higher than stock S1 790mm). You only notice the difference in the really tight corners. The rear suspension is much smoother over bumps compared to the original shock.

Well here's my new catch can, I turned up the canister on the lathe. The lid is one of my spare frame plugs modified. The filter came from Super Cheap Auto for $10.50. The drain tap is robbed of a JAZ catch can I had in the shed. And I had some left over braided oil line. I'll eventually replace the fittings with the red/blue Speedflow ones when I'm next in the City. I'm happy with how it turned out : )

Here's a couple of picture's (sorry about how dirty it is!) Also note the odo nearly 3000k's which gives the bike a total of 55000k's and still going strong!

Cheers
Jodie

Jodie-not sure if you get the fuell mag that Buell puts out, but if you don't(possibly cause your in AU) shoot me an e-mail. I'll send you mine, and there's a section in there for which your bike should definitely find it's way onto the pages of. Looks like you're enjoying the motoring.

G'day Corey : ) Yeah your right, we don't get Fuell mag here : (. I'm really enjoying the bike, I ride it every day and night to work(roster!)I made an under tail for it the other day but haven't had the chance to post pictures. I'll head out to the shed shortly ;).
Apparently Erik Buell is in Australia doing some promo stuff. I just hope he comes up to Queensland, I'll take my bike down for a signature and picture.
I believe you can download the Fuell mag from the Buell America website, but because I don't have the US details address, phone etc I can't access it! Doh!!!

Cheers

Here's a couple of new bit's I've just made.

I made an under tail panel to keep the crap out of the wiring(white cable ties will be replaced with black ones).
And I made myself a Stenzel type bracket that Xldevils posted a picture of in another post.
I haven't ridden it yet so am yet to pass judgment on it's effectiveness. I'll remove it and paint it once I'm happy with it.

Cheers

Having seen Jodie's bike on the road, in the flesh, I can honestly say people that it is very pretty. A real impressive machine. It was just a pity that I didn't get to catch up at the time.

Cheers Jodie.

"Is your upper shock mount robust enough not to break?" Answer is yes, Its chrome molly steel fully tig welded and braced. I've seen flimsier brackets on stock bikes!

I rode it to work last night and I believe it has removed a small amount of vibration.

Thanks Ken, sorry I didn't get to show you the bike up close!

Thanks Blake what an insult being called a Kiwi! : ) Be like calling an American a Canadian : )

Just thought I would post my bikes geometry changes.

Stock settings as per the owners manual

Wheelbase 139.7cm Now 1450mm
seat height 74.9cm Now 85cm
Trail 9.91cm Now 9cm
rake 25degrees Now 23degrees

I'm still yet to weigh it to find the difference.

Cheers

Excellent job on the scoot jodie. I just got my first buell. A 99 S3. 30k miles and in great condition. Unfortunately i cant ride it yet due to the crash i am recovering from. An out of control driver ran my dad and me off the road in the canyons near our house and, of course, took off without helping. Totaled both bikes and broke many bones, so my recovery project will be a similar tail section replacement on my new s3. i haven't even ridden it yet and i'm already in love. I'll make sure to post pictures once i start.
