hey guys.. just a quick question i was hoping for some help with.. i ride a s2t. when parked the bike pretty much balances on the kick stand.. she lays right over and people cringe.. what i need from some of you other bad webbers is the current lean angle of your buells when parked.. would like to know what model and how far it leans.. and real measurements would help..
my "yea,, about that far" oh meter is a little off. currently out for calibration.. thanks again.. aaron

What is your favorite method of measurement?

I just want to make sure that we all measure the same as each other.

best way to do it is take a magnetic angle guage and stick it to the brake disk (rear)

I'll check the X1 later but I can tell you right now that it doesn't lean enough. When I first got it it seemed to me to be standing upright, almost vertical. I'll throw an angle gauge on it tonight if I remember.

Uh, the X1 shoudl be leaning over, the only reason I can think of the X1 standing almost upright...is its lowered...

i will see if I can get a semi-accurtate measurement today... I still need to pull the codes from the ECM...

It hasn't been lowered to my knowledge. I bought it new off the floor and have not done anything yet suspension-wise so as far as I know it's bone stock upright. If I put anything bigger than a 2X4 under the stand it will fall over.

If you can put a 2x4 under the stand and it doesn't fall over, then it doesn't sound like anything is out of the ordinary.

But alas, wait for someones measurments to be sure.

a 2x4,, my s2 you use a 4x4 under the kick stand with out any worries.. that gets you to a normal bike lean angle.. but i was wondering what angle the other models sit at..

just to give you an idea.. look at the approx 3" round al bar under the kick stand and the angle it is still sitting at.. you can see by looking at the mirrors or handle bars.. top of tank..

I've seen pics of S2s. They always have a scary lean. Hope to do my own home study some day....

The '99 X1 came in at an 11 degree lean angle. It was a close call between 10 and 11 but I think it was a little closer to 11. The weather here is starting to break a little, almost 60 day before yesterday. I think the battery is about to go back on.
