I need to ask a favor IF you have a clutch spring tool may I borrow it please?

I will pay (re imburse you for freight) and as bad webb as witness will return it promptly after use,

Oldog,

If I had one, I'd gladly let you borrow it. The sad fact of the matter is that the last time I needed one I borrowed it from a H-D dealer that I was working at part time. Hopefully someone on the good ship BadWeb will oblige you as I can't.

Good luck,

Don't forget that you can fab up a clutch tool pretty easily. I posted my pics somewhere here but I used a bar of aluminum and a ring cut from large diameter exhaust pipe.

Just a tip, if you keep that spring plate and drill out a couple of the rivets, you can bolt a spare friction (drive plate) to it and you have a real handy tool to lock the clutch hub and the clutch shell together. Works great for installing main shaft nut.

"Don't forget that you can fab up a clutch tool pretty easily."

I'm pretty sure that's the whole point of this little charade.

If anyone needs to use it after Oldog I don't mind, as long as it gets back to me eventually.

Pretty good, thanks, a foot of fresh, had the chair all to myself, and I hit my stash 4 times before I saw anyone else. That's why I live in the sticks. Also makes it easier when you augur. Nobody sees you.

No I left it standard, now that I have looked at the tool I can probably make one up here, We have pipe, plate a drill press and torches / welders but I have got to ad mit that the tool that you loaned me is first class.

I may change it later if it gets to be a problem. I bought a cable luber tool from Al and some cable lube, last year I left the cable lay on the floor over night and I noticed a huge difference in the operation, ( i attribue to oil in the cable ) Who knows
Oh btw nice post on the mod, the spring plate is out, its not quite what I expected to find. The plates were in supprisingly good shape.

It seemed like there was a lot of metal in the oil and on the drain plug I will likely pull the tranny at 30 K for a look and output shaft bearing check / replace.
