I have just received my 3rd annual recall notice on the throttle cable problem. As soon as I heard about the problem many moons ago I used safety wire to hold them in place.
I never got around to getting the recall done because I haven't had my bike in the shop since the first letter came. I don't really want to take it in just for the recall.
Is there a way to let them know that is what is going on? In the letter there isn't a place for comments.

I think it has to have the company's magical seal of approval in order to make it "right" to the DOT.
What's the big deal anyways? it's free right?
So long as they don't make it worse or something.

Yea, I got mine too. But mine has the recall on it, it just didn't get the paperwork done right on it when it got done. I've told them the work is done but they don't want to believe me.

I just got a notice as well. If I took mine in for the recall they would have no place to bolt the parts.
Not a big deal for me.Now if they start sending those notices once a month...I may get annoyed.
Seems like they would have an affidavit attached so you could set things straight. Sure would save them some paperwork and filing in the future.

Nate,
It's not such a big deal, except that I'd have to trailer it down there, leave it, have to call a week later to find out if it is done. Luckily I've never had my bike messed up by a service shop but ours does wash them .
