I've got a '96 S1, and I can't find any good place to store registration and insurance papers. Anybody got a good idea where or how to stash these?

Same problem on my Cyclone - no place to stash documents. I got a "Grifter" box that fits behind the license plate. $20 on eBay, and it holds papers and other small stuff. Locks and works fine.

on my MaDeuce, I got a heavy duty, waterproof ziploc baggie thingie from a camping store (made for maps and the like), and duck taped it to the underside of the seat -- a lil unhandy, for sure, but it's always there

Someone, I don't remember who, use to make a bag that sat velcro style I believe, behind the bikini fairing on S and X1's.

YoYodyne made the infamous hinged flyscreen deal Sean,,,IIRC. That'll be a hard one to find.

HD makes a velcro and plastic baggie thing for the VROD that works great on anything if installed under the seat -- they even call it the document holder and only want $10.00 for it : )

Simple: In your pocket. If you practice AYGATT, then you shouldn't be worried about forgetting it.

That's a great idea from H-D. Charge $10 for a ziploc bag and some velcro : D But at least it gave me a idea for storage on my S1W

Lake, The HD ziploc is a bit heavier than the grocery store version. I thought the same thing as you and went to Wally World and purchased some self-sticking velcro and a ziploc-like bag in the sporting goods section. Works good and it's seen its share of water : )

for the S1W i have a zip lock type doc holder, like the type to hold fishing licenses, and it has a hole in a tab near the top, place that around the seat mount screw before mounting the seat. plus i keep a copy in my wallet. but i like the velcro to the bottom of the seat idea as well.

I have a jig on my firebolt that mounts behind the license plate that has a lock on it.
inside it even has a (small)pocket for documents.

I put mine in my wallet. However, one could put the papers in a ziplock bag, slip it into a discarded athletic sock and place it on top of the oil tank under the seat.

The sock can then serve two purposes,
1) hold the papers
2) wipe clean the area around the dipstick when checking oil.
One could thus proudly say he upholds the Buell design philosophy of multi-function parts.: )

Yodude Flytrap - Lets me keep my Buell toolkit and papers out of the way.

It is a short piano hinge with an arc cut in it. The arc is on the top bolt that fastens the hinge to the support. In this way, the hinge opens and then articulates.

Unless you are looking for the Bonzai Osicillation Overthruster, YoYoDyne won't be much help here...

...be warned John Smallberrys, be warned.

Spidy:

I don't know about smoking okra, but I strongly suspect that, even if it happens to be possible, Daves would refuse to try it!
