Hi guys,
I am hopefully going to purchase my first Buell soon (I read the classifieds here daily). I am looking at the S3T models becuase they have the hard bags & better riding position for the old lady.
My question is this: Has anybody ever put an M1 style headlight/dash assembly on an S3? I just don't like the square headlight and windshield.

My ideal bike would be an opposite mullet:
-Party in the front, business in the back!!!

BT -- I've not done it, but it would be eaiser to use X1 light/dash/flyscreen -- X1 has the same forks as the S3, so the headlight ears will mount right up -- M2 has female slider forks (rightsideup?), which means the headlight ears won't fit on your forks

you'll also need the handle bar clamp from an X1 or M2, as that's what the dash mounts to --

sounds like a fun project!

Yes that is the overall idea, I'm not that familiar with each model. I just picked the M1 as an example.

Give the S3 fairing a chance, it might grow on you (it did me), and I like the family resemblance to the early Buells...

Bikertrash check out my posts, I've fitted X1 headlight brackets, screen and dash to my s3 with no problems at all. You will need the handle bar clamp so the dash can bolt on.
I used a Ducati Monster headlight as genuine Buell headlight her in Oz retails for $1100Aus and bought a Genuine Ducati headlight(same as Buell) for $550. Also the rear taillight on S1 Buells is the same as Ducati Monster.

I do miss the cruising comfort of the S3 fairing but for looks alone the X1 setup kicks ass!
