Got new Tomahawk T1 tires. (only $109 for both...had to try them) But as the title says, one of the local sportbike shop put the back tire on backwards. Didn't notice it til I got home, but now they are closed til monday. What makes me really mad is that I specifically told them which way they go, because the back brake is opposite of most sportbikes.

Is it a problem to ride the bike today?

got it switched today. Thanks for your opinion on the tires, but I'll try them out for a couple thousand miles and post a review of my findings.

I've had a set for about 5k miles and loved them. It's time for a new set and I'll be going back to them. When I got mine, I ordered directly from Tomahawk and specifically asked for the Pirelli carcases. They said that most of the tires are made from Dunlops, but you can request a specific manufacturer and if they have any they will set you right up.

As for handling, I haven't had any problems with them and they wore really even and gripped fantastically in the rain and dry pavement. If you have any doubts, spend the $150 or so and get a set, mount them up and run them on a track day to see what I mean. They just don't give on the grip, and no delamination experienced. Remember, most sportbike guys still think that Buell's are not really sportbikes until we show them what they can do, so don't beat on the T-hawks and give bad opinions until you try them out!!!

Just my $.02 chiming in.....

So far ridden about 65 miles tonight. Not scrubbed in yet, but they feel totally different than my dunlop 205s. A little strange actually. After initial turn-in they want to stay leaned over, a little too much sometimes. I'll put some miles on them before I solidify my opinion.

By the way, a Tomahawk T1, 180/55/17 does not fit inside the rear fender on a '99 M2 It rubs just barely on the top and a little more on the very left (brake side) edge of the tire.
