When I ride by any solid object, I hear a metallic clicking sound in my exhaust echo. Nothing loose externally. Is this normal valve noise? Thanks, Chad.

Hire an exterminator, your Buell may be infested by rabid fire breathing voles. joker

Lots of metalic clicking emanating from a Buell. Exhaust echos are not reliable indicators of exhaust sound. I notice a metalic note sometimes too. I think it is acoustics playing a trick is all. : )

Prudent thing to do though might be to check/verify the integrity of all exhaust support hardware and bracketry.

My S1 does that too, but I thought it was due to the hole in my supertrapp near the mount!

I use ear protection every time I ride. With the Buell, the ear plugs help a bit to maintain my sanity. Otherwise, every little noise could drive me nuts.
But it's still a great ride!

Might be your lifters. Mine "tick" after the motor gets good and warm; this is normal and nothing to worry about.

I used to have a metallic tick while my bike was warming up. It would start about a minute after the bike was started and continue for about three minutes. For years, I thought it was a lifter making the noise, but when I reinstalled my header after polishing, it went away completely. It was apparently an exhaust leak where the header mates up to the exhaust port.
