Or whatever the designation is for the HD "STREET ROD",
Has anyone ridden one?
Is it a sporty-ish bike?

My girth [I am down to 290] has me wondering if maybe I should look into a more substantial cycle, but I am smitten with my M-2's performance and would not like anything [much] less.
BTW, call it vanity, but it has to be a HD product.

The Rod is still a as much a bastard to HD, as teh Buell is to most...

On a second note, I LOVE the V-Rod. In fact, there is a sweet one here in town I was lusting after. Will snap a wheelie with ease...OR baste the tire off the rim...

Sporty...try the Street Rod...inverted forks, lower bars, adjustable shocks. Other than that the Night Rod (mid-controls) may be the most comfortable.

I too love the look of the Street Rod over the other v-rod models. The fact that most Harley regulars won't ride one is a plus to me- I enjoy having something a little different (don't all of us Buell riders). It also means that the resale value won't be as good- making them more affordable to somebody like me who cannot afford new...
I haven't ridden one, but will take a test ride on one someday...

I rode a Street Rod when they first came out. It was comfrotable, it rode nice, and I liked the way it looked. I don't know how "Sporty" it is, still seems to be a mile long. But it is fairly fast going straight....

There is one running around town here with Bar end mirrors on it and some other doodads...Freakin' cool looking.

It would probably be the only HD I would get.

My parents both love their V-Rods.

I enjoy the handling and performance of my M2, it has made me a better rider. I think the seat hurts, but I have a spare seat and I am gonna treat myself to some custom upholstery.

I would consider a UJM rather than return to a low performer.

My local dealer had a Street Rod and I am hoping that he has to sit on it for a year until my funding becomes available.

I'll keep the Buell.

I demo'd a Street Rod in the N. Georgia mountains and came away reasonably impressed with the handling and brakes. Not to shabby for such a heavy bike. The power was a revelation compared to a Dyna.

I think you'll love it.

I rented a street rod in Orlando last Nov. while on vacation. I put about 300 miles on it in a day. We had a regular v-rod too. I was way more comfortable on the street rod. It was more similar to my X1.
If I had to go H-D, that is the one I'd take. A lot of fun and some decent power. It looked sharp too.

Does it perform like a Buell?
Any issues as far as reliability?

not sure about reliability, but that motor is butter smooth with good acceleration. i liked the demo i rode. be aware that the v-rod was rated dead last in one of the magazines a couple of years ago for passenger useability. crappy seat for pax. not sure if stret rod is the same.
rated very well as a short run bike but ymmv.

I never really liked the looks of the original V-rod, but as soon as I saw the Street Rod, I liked it.

My dad loves his VROD. It's very custom...chrome to the hilt, tribal flame paint job, loud pipes, etc. You should see the people look when he rides up, pulls of his helmet and they see a 71 year-old guy with white hair!!!

If you sign up here, you could get all you questions answered. They are as partial to Vrods as we are to Buells...http://www.v-rodforums.com/
