Is there anyone in near central CA area with a Corbin Seat on their S3 that would let me sit on it???? I am thinking about buying one, but don't want to waste my money on something that is not comfortable to me. Any way, just thought I would ask.

Thanks

Jason

I've been ranting about this before, so I'll keep it relatively short.

The S3 seat was *absolutely NOT* one of Corbin's finest moments. If you have the option of going to the factory for a custom fit ... maybe ... If not; expect lousy fit, unbearably uncomfortable even *after* the thousands of miles of "break-in", completely pathetic customer service.

Buyer beware.

Thanks Henrik. It is that kind of response that I needed. I have tried my wifes old Corbin (sporty) and I didn't like it. She said it was comfy...but anyhow.

So if not Corbin, what/where do I look for improved comfort for the long haul then??????

I see you have an '02 S3, so you have the newer (and much better than the '97 - '98) seat.

As for Pro Pad and other options we have a thread going here:

Essthree:

I've got a Corbin on my M2 and one on my S3T. I like them both although I think the M2 Corbin feels a little better because it is wider. Also, the S3 Corbin has a little upturn along the edges under my thighs.

One thing I like about the Corbins is they let me sit back a little farther.

I can't say whether either are good for long long days but I can say that I don't have to pull over and get off the seat because my butt is sore. It is normally my legs and knees that make me stop and rest.

I'm happy with my Corbins. If I had them to do over, I would buy them again. By the way, the S3 seat was $229 in the Winter and Spring. I see it is back up to $349 again.

I sat on an AirHawk pad on a friend's Beemer. I think I could really learn to like that. Admittedly it was just at our breakfast stop but I'd heard about them in the past. Couple hundred cheaper than a Sargeant or Corbin.

The S3 seat has been just fine for me until I start doing more than a few hundred miles at a stretch. Sunny on the rear seat has it worse and after an hour, I feel her trying to shift around to get comfortable. We usually each ride our own bikes but last weekend we rode 2-up to Laguna Seca.
