I don't believe its my imagination, but I think I can feel more vibration through the footpegs. Can anyone advise what I might or should be checking ? Has anyone experienced this before. Thanks for your help guys and gals ! | ||

I'd take a close look at the rear and front isolators. While you're checking the front isolator, check the rotation of the washer (I believe) on top - the flat "edge" should face forward. Could also be time to check primary chain tension. Do any work on the bike recently? Replace any parts? Any new sounds/noises? Henrik | ||

Henrik, thanks for your response. The bike has just done 25,000miles, due for all oil and filter changes as well as primary chain tension. I have owned the bike since 19,000 miles and replaced all oils and filter as well as primary chain tension and replaced plugs just after I purchased it. I don't have the 98 M2 manual and not sure where to get one from. I have not worked on the bike recently or replaced any parts, just coming home off the mountains in the bitter cold at 2am I noticed this. No new sounds and noises, but I really did notice the footpeg vibration which did not appear to lessen as the rev's rose. I am not sure if the front or rear isolators need replacing as I have no indication of knowing if this is the case. How would one know ? Thanks for your help, Dennis | ||

If the vibrations do not change with RPM and speed I'd be leaning more towards isolators. On some of the early rear isolators you'd also be able to see a tear longitudinal tear if you look at the isolator "behind" the frame. Of course with some 6000 miles since your last primary chain adjustment, it'd be worth a look. Henrik |
