Cool, beautiful bikes!

I dream of my S2 on turbo-boost...

That pair beats some three-of-a-kind I've seen.

Several years ago a bunch of us from Glendale BRAG rode to American Sport Bike's annual BBQ. That was before Al L. took it over from the Marcy's. Peter (the former owner) was there with that turbo'd S2. I won the 'S2 division' in the attendee bike show, but I don't know why as that bike is drop-dead beautiful! Mine isn't really an S2 but an RS1200 cleverly disguised as one. He has done a ton of mods and I'm sure it's smokin' fast, along with being so gorgeous. Your are a lucky guy to have that one in your 'stable'!

Doug - If your are ever in L.A. come on by and I'll let you 'field test' that dream on my turbo'd RS/S2T!

As I'm sure Tres (and the several other '-charger' bike owners) can vouch for - when you start hitting the mid 3000 RPMs and the turbo starts to boost, you WILL be leaving your current location!

I still cannot tell the difference from teh S2/S3, UNLESS, I am looking from the left, and I can see teh brace that was on 99 and up...

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Quite right Al, the S2 used to belong to Peter Parsons. He did a fantastic job on the build, he went through the motor and set it up right for the turbo. It runs 15 pounds boost on the high setting and 11 on the low. I'm running 104 octane in it per Peter's suggestions. The thing is nasty-fast, it makes my Lightning feel pretty pokey when I ride them back-to-back. As you say when you rip on the throttle and hit mid 3k, it's like an interdimensional rift opens and sligshots you to another place : ) But when just cruising around it's amazingly civilized. Boost is zero at cruising speeds and it's very smooth and comfy. It's really the best of all worlds!

Your bike is absolutely gorgeous in the photos I've seen! I did a Google search for turbo Thunderbolts some time ago and saw a couple of pics of your bike, I told myself I would have something like that some day : ) I actually still have them on my hard drive. I kept the search up on and off on eBay and Trader Online for years, you just don't see turbo Buells come up for sale much. Finally Peter's bike surfaced and thankfully the price was right! I'm very happy to have it, I really love it as you can probably tell!

Just thought I'd throw in a photo of "that other turbo bike" - right side photo in my profile.
This one is tentatively for sale or trade, by the way. It doesn't get ridden near as much as it used to - it seems to be aging much more gracefully than my neck, back and wrists are!
I'm alot more comfortable on my RoadKing, and tend to pull it out of the garage rather than the RS.

LB, nice looking rides! I've got an '05 Mustang vert, I'll have to do a "family" photo like yours some time : )

Al, sorry to hear you're thinking of selling it, I hope you can find a good home for it! I would have been all over it if not for the S2, but then again wouldn't it be cool to have TWO turbo Buells in the garage?
