ok guys, gonna pick your brains. ive got a couple race header and muffler question.. i just picked up a used header and muffler..great timing as usual, less that 100 miles on the NOS carbon fiber borla i put on!!!! oh well here goes. 1 it seems ive seen a couple different race cans.. some stainless and some al. dose any one know why, or when the difference took place. 2 the packing is gone and looks like it hasent been around for quite a while.. the perferated tube is broke into several pieces.. will probably order the repacking stuff from "al". the perferated tube, do you think it would be ok to replace with perferated al? or should i stick with steel. 3 if anyone has the installation sheets in pfd,, or know where i can get them. i wouldnt mind looking them over. 4 the rear mount.. if one of you guys could take a picture of the rear mount attached to the bike. that would be greatly appreciated.. i will make up my own front and rear mounts to allow for the exhaust to sit where it wants but would like to see the rear if possible.. thanks aaron,, aaomy | ||

I have the instructions to hang a race muffler for a 1999+ tuber. I can fax it to you if you'd like or send you a copy. I don't know if the rear hanger set up is the same for an older tuber race muffler, but the one that came with my race kit was pretty cheesy. I never used the SS race muffler or the hanger - I modified the old V&H I had to fit the race header. |
