old school buell has been a topic for a long time, every other tuber has seen the lime light, now how about the buelltiful CYCLONE for a change!
and don't feel bad if you chopped your tail and turned your forks upside down you still got an M2!

bob that's a really cool m2, the only one i've ever seen with a full fairing, got any pics of the front?
spidy, mary jane is simply fantastic in every stage. was she flat black in the way back before time?
rex, yours is the coolest pre99 m2 i've ever seen, i've been meaning to ask you for a while, why you went with the dual disks in the front, i've always thought the stockers had plenty of grab, are the pre99 brakes different from the post 99 m2's?
here's some more m2s don't know where i got them, probably here on bad web.

Arrrghh! My bike is apart right now. I knew this would happen.

Pics later. There is some stuff I'd like to share when it gets back together.

M2's really are the best bike Buell ever made. I'm not saying that because I have one; I have one because it's true!

The little tags peeking out from under the flyscreen over the dashplate are for clipping stuff to like a power connector to a detector or something. Behind the flyscreen is a terminal block, a relay for the "temporary" aux. lights, and extra room to wire other stuff in up front if wanted. The mount is drilled and tapped into the edge of the aluminum dashplate, something you can't readily do with the plastic ones.

And, yeah, it's dirty and got oil on it, but I don't really care. : )

Tripp, thanks for the compliment. Here's picture of the front showing the three 55w halogen lights for canyon running just in case I get caught after dark. I also added a head temp. guage and 8 inch cooling fan although fairing has eight louvers on the the sides.

Here's the most current pic of my M2. Most of my mods are on the inside, but there is a little bling bling on it. While I'm at it, here's a vid showing off the muffler I made.

All of you guys have nice Buells with Great ideas and an eye for details. I have a 99 S3T that I want to customize for a lack of a better word. I bought an X1 headlight and dash to mount on it but not sure now if I want to use it.
Bob Thompson's bike gives me an idea too. I need some kind of windshield now because 40 years of high winds has taken it's toll on my neck and the S3's fairing just blows the wind right at my head.
Any of you creative guys have any ideas for me?
Bob, what kind of fairing is that?
Spiderman, what a bike. I would never had the guts to do that to a bike but after seeing yours I wish I had thought of it. Simply fantastic. Sincerely, Cactus Jack
Anyone of you

Jack, my fairing is a Suzuki RF900 from Airtech that I adapted with my own mount system. The race type "street" fairings though do not stop much wind from hitting me in the helmet area unless I crouch quite a bit but stop most other buffeting. It does however give me a more relaxed ride not having to hold quite so tight to the bars at higher speed. My endeavor was mostly for looks. Bob

I was wondering how both of you did it. Change over to clip ons? Mount pretty easy or did you have to make a bunch of brackets? Looks great. Could I do the same thing to an S1? Looking again looks like spidy has the inverted forks. Hmmm what do I need to do?

Garrett, I made four mounts for each side, two top and two bottom as the fairing I used is a three piece; front upper and two side lowers for easy maintenance. The front upper is held also with two upper and two lower mounts. The mounts I fabricated from 1/2 inch tubing and are attached to the frame with rubber isolated tubing clamps so as not to damage the frame. The fairing is very secure this way and vibration does not affect it. Clamps were from McMaster-Carr industrial supply. Everything bolted with nylock nuts. I did this during the winter to have it ready to ride this spring. Total time fabbing everything was probably around 160 hours over a months time as I took my time to get everything looking as well as I could and be secure. It was good to have a tube frame to work with to have many points to clamp to. Handlebars are same length and pullback but two inch lower rise. Also I have a fairly well equipped shop so hand fabrication isn't a big thing. I also like Spidy's inverted forks. Maybe thats next for me when I have the funds. Carl(Devdog), I really like your fairing. Where is it from? Bob

Spidey..thanks...I'm glad you approve!!

I used that bracket you had for the bottom and trimmed the top mount on the neck to fit the fairing bracket at first..but didn't like how far it pushed it out and tilted up.
Wish I would had taken a closer look before I trimmed the top bracket on the neck though...noticed if you run a set of flat brackets between those mounting brackets on the front of the neck the XB mount fits nicely inside them....and you can slide it up and down and play with the angle (depending on how wide the brackets are you're using)...
But since I trimmed the top I had to run two sets, one for the top and one for the bottom. Pulls the fairing back nicely to the triple trees without interfering with the bars. I'm still playing with the exact angle and height though...I'll get it just right sooner or later...

Once I get it just right, I'll get it painted (just spray can black and clear with a couple of hours in the oven for now)...still looking for a set of headlight bezels as well...

Bob...it's an XB Firebolt fairing...with a solid black windshield

Garrett...yes went with a set of crossroads..but I think a lower set of bars like Ducati Monster's might work also...

Glad that mount I made worked for you!!
