Is there a better after market gasket kit than the Harley one? Rear jug leaking at the base and I think I may have blown a head gasket. Bike only has about 3500 miles on it would like something to last a little longer than that. | ||

Garrett, The new kits are much better than the old ones. The base gaskets are better, head gaskets the same (I think), rocker box gaskets are MUCH better. I just did my M2 this past summer. The whole top end kit was about $95 if memory serves. Check with Dave S at Appleton. | ||

Definitely look into Cometic. Otherwise James Gaskets are a favorite of Hoban Bros Racing. I've had good luck with them both. | ||

had the same problem with a base gasket. I applied some anaerobic sealant and a new stock gasket and it worked like a charm | ||

Cometic. I used my used head, base and rocker gaskets again when I rebuilt the motor. They were still like new and they are absolutely oil tight after nearly 3000 miles. In fact, they were not even marked except for superficial stuff you'd expect. Good choice of thicknesses available too. Rocket | ||
