I have the factory race exhaust on my X1 along with the race header, etc. I like the factory race exhaust quit a bit. It is loud and beefy sounding kind of like a small block Chevy running out of dual exhaust. I have put about 6k miles on my bike since I added the race exhaust with no problems at all. There is no packing to have to be replaced so no problems.

Make sure you don't confuse the factory race exhaust with the factory Supertrapp type mufflers with removable disks, etc. They are not the same thing and from what I've been told, not as loud.

I'm not sure which mufflers are the loudest, Force, D&D, Factory Race, V&H as I don't have a lot of other Buells around to compare mine to. Others may have a better answer on that.

Good luck,

YOu probably have a stock exhaust pipe, with a V&H slip on. The previous owner most likely bought the race filter and ECM seperatly. This is just as good as the factory race kit, numbers may be 1 to 5 hp difference. It's actually more about the tuning then anything else.
