Sounds like you've hit all the bases on checking out your S3. One thing I would suggest- be sure you don't have the belt over-tightened. Most people agree the factory specs are too tight- the belt tightens up as the swing arm moves and a too-tight belt really loads up the transmission output shaft bearings.
