hey,ya'll!brand new to buells and can't quit grinnin'!!also new to forums and such.thanx to everyone for all the info i've absorbed so far...hope i can contribute in the future.is this the right venue to start asking questions??

so far...just got 99 st3 w/4500 mi for 4000$.not a steal,but close enough for me.700 miles so far w/no probs.changed oil and filter,20-50 h-d,checked primary chain,adjusted belt.got a factory manual.i'm a long time wrench,but never on american iron.first trip to nearest dlr(pensacola)today.got trans fluid(h-d),primary and cam cvr gskts(GOTTA polish those cases)and ordered new pri chain tensioner shoe and race ecm in anticipation of intake upgrade.don't need mo'power,just less ugly!!stock exhaust is ok for now.ALL comments and suggestions appreciated.thanx.

Welcome Buellbozo. And do give the search function full use. "Messages since I last searched for new messages" works very well. Some folks have an issue with it and wade through all posts to find new ones. (Not the way for a quick 'what happened while I was gone" check

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you've hit all the bases on checking out your S3.

One thing I would suggest- be sure you don't have the belt over-tightened. Most people agree the factory specs are too tight- the belt tightens up as the swing arm moves and a too-tight belt really loads up the transmission output shaft bearings. Search the site for more info if you didn't already pick up on it.
