Yesterday morning when I stated the S1 I heard a quick back fire then a bit of clunking. It wouldn't start after that and gas came out the intake. Pulled it in to the garage for later investigation.

When the plugs were pulled out I noticed the rear plug had a dent in it, and that cylinder was not making compression. Brought it to a local shop and they pulled it apart this AM.

The head intake valve seat was loose, valve bent and the guide tube broken. I found a piece of the guide tube on my driveway as it came right out of the exhaust. I looked at the mess in there and not only the head is damaged but the piston has a bit of damage too but my be usable.

Apparently the valve seat caused all this to happen. So if you are experiencing a loss of power and occasional back fire don't isolate trouble shooting to the intake seals of the carb like I did.

It may be a while before I get this one fixed as funds are limited. Unless of course there are cyclists out there who would like to buy a Litespeed Antares road bike for 1200.00.
