I was looking in the KV, but I can not find it. Does anyone have the checklist used for the 10k service on a '99 Lightning? I am at work, and don't have the list. Am I wrong to think this is something I can do myself? If I remember, as long as everything is in working order, and I have the proper tools, I should be able to handle it? Are there any suggestions on things to look for?

don't have the list either. I think fork oil, and steering head re grease, swing arm re grease.
check oil pump Drive gear. change Brake fluid front and rear.
order seals and bolts for swing arm,
if you do the drive gear
gear( bronze ), gear case gasket, rocker box gaskets, oil pump gasket
your 99 is over 4 years old you may want to over haul the brake system and change the fluid
oil and filter change too.

I have posted some stuff in related sections except the gear change. refer to fsm for info on the cam chest.

10k
Tranny Fluid
Spark Plugs
Air Cleaner
That and Oil is what needs replaced according to service manual.
Other than that it is Inspection and lubrication
of everything else.
Forks are called for at 20k

Any other questions, i can try to find the answers, i just got the service manual for 99/00 X1

Don't have a service manual here, but I know that is the first suggestion made by guys here when giving advice to newbies. If i remember correctly, the Buell manual is much better than aftermarket manuals.
