the DR650 guys have a perfect bolt up to their bikes with the new xb9/12s/sx etc lightnings headlights and windscreen, i was wondering if it was almost as easy on the x1?

Gearing up for winter projects?

I've seen it done with good and bad results.

A local guy put the s model lights his m2 and used fiber glass to fabricate an extension on his fly screen to fill the gap above the lights. It looked sweet after paint, I've considered doing it myself. He said he also had to fab a bracket for the light to mount up right. Maybe the x1 brackets may line up better than the m2's did...

I've seen other Buellers mount dual lights with the stock unmodified flyscreen, but IMO it looks unfinished. Looks better with the flyscreen gone but I don't care for that look either.

Myself, been considering getting the large oval light from the MotoGuzzi bike, I think it's called a Breva (??). Considered the vrod light but it's an inch smaller across than the stock lamp and I don't want to do any more body work.

Good luck, post pics when you make your changes.

Speaking of lights
Is there a High Intensity LIght bulb that can be used for the X1.

Like the ones that are in the new Lexus... almost look blue.

I've been wondering..

I would LOVE a HID.
But I still love that my headlight bulb was at CAP for $11.

$450 = wicked cool
$11 = works ok

Same reason my ironhead stil has points.
$300 = good ignition
$6 = @*&% ignition

It's all about the washingtons, baby!
