What jet i should be running, If the bike spits and fits at 3g's, i need to increase the size, but i have forgoten what size, and what slot on the needle

Roger,you forgot to tell us the details--what bike,what carb,etc.OK.

Course the other question is--did you check the obvious stuff,like what do your plugs look like-rich or lean,when were they last replaced,how are the wires,how are your grounds,bad gas????

Opps thanks Jim, i should have mentioned its all stock CV carb, stock pipe, stock air cleaner
98 S1, so its a t-storm motor, i know its supose to have a bigger jet(like my old S3) but cant rember the size, for some reason 48 sticks in my head, but again not sure

Roger; most people use a #45 or #48 slow jet in the CV carb. I think #45 is a good starting point, along with some fidling with the idle mixture screw.

I agree with Henrik. #45 good place to start. If that isn't rich enough I would drill it out before I put a #48 in.
Cough at 3000 rpm could also be intake seals. Have ya checked those?
