Hey,
I'm looking for a thread in the KV on R&R my belt on an '00 S3. I swear I must be brain-dead, can't find the do-it-yourself procedure anywhere.

It'd be great if someone posted a link for me, but it would be even better if I could just fugure out how to use the KV.

I think the KV generally offers advice and opinions on problems and variations of procedures that are described in the service manual. I don't think it you'll find a step-by-step for most things there. However, there is a full manual for an S1 and I think that the procedure is more or less the same as for an S3. For that, just look at the list of headings under "s".

I've got a manual but don't have a "spreader" for replacing the belt w/out taking the swingarm off. I had hoped there would be an alternative methode and thought I had read somewhere there was. Guess I'm wrong.

REK -- American Thunder Bike has a great procedure for belt R&R -- it involves dropping the swingarm and block, but it's pertty simply to do, and possible to do solo (though I buddy would sure come in handy for install) --

other than the big honkin TORX/Allen (depending on the vintage of your swingarm iso bolts) and an inpact driver (for removing same), nothing out of the ordinary is required

You can always remove the frame assembly from the engine/swingarm assembly.

Last time I did it was only 4 hrs and of course OZ helped.
