Does anyone know if that type of set-up will work for an injected '02 S3T?

Thanks's for the complement Irish. The muffler would work fine, you'd just have to re-map the ecm, which any dealer should be able to handle for you.

Glad you like the muffler, Ratchdaddy. It was fairly easy to make. Hardest part was the mounting brkt, but I have a knee mill and lathe in the garage so it didn't pose too much of a challenge.

That souns SO good, dude.
I have run a Force on my S1 for over 4 years, and just removed it in order to fab/rebuild/modify/cobble a new set up. How many miles do you have on your mounting brackets?
Are they holding up? I have an idea as to how I am going to re-engineer my brackets, but I would like to see how you did it if you like the way they came out. Cool Mpeg, I have it saved.

I've got close to 1K miles on the set-up with no signs of any problems. The front mount is just the stock bracket using the band clamp that came with the race header. The real potential for problems is in the rear mount. That's why I retained the basic design of the race muffler hanger and just modified/improved on it. The bracket I fabbed for the muffler is made of 1" X 2" X 1/8" wall rectangular tubing. I determined the mounting point I wanted then milled a radius to match the muffler body. I then drilled thru the tubing and welded a piece of 5/8" dia bar stock that I had pre-drilled to accept the rear hanger bolt. The rear bracket has a strap that mounts on either side. One angles forward, the other angles rearward. This forms a V at the rear mount and prevents the muffler from being able to move forward or rearward in the event the front clamp should come loose. From most of the designs I've seen, that's where bad things can happen. If the muffler is allowed to travel front to rear, it is possible that the front could come loose and jam into the road causing a nice catapult effect! The way I have mine mounted prevents that failure mode.

The muffler doesn't seem to be any louder now than when I first installed it. It sounds even better under a load! Wish I had the production capacity, I'd like to market them. I've heard alot of Buell systems and I think this one sounds the best without being too obnoxious. As a side note, I TIG welded all of the pipe joints but MIG welded the mounting brkt to the muffler body.

the stock and race kit ecms acording to what I have been able to learn can't be remapped, you have to use a PC2/3 or techlusion for that. Lots of mixed reports there, the 99 box supposedly can but no commercialy available software ie factory only. Some folks have opted for carbs
with good results they say, I have the efi with a pc3 the supertrap is some what more restrictive( I think ) but sounds nice, also a force winder. a little improvement and for me No pinging.

If you can weld and have access to some basic machinery, it's really not too hard. If this iteration does well, I'm planning on building a stainless version next year.
