Ok all ya wrench heads. Some one tell me how easy/difficult it is to replace a front isolator on a 2002 X1. If it isnt' all too difficult then someone please let me know a step by step procedure. I am assuming it is just prop the bike up (bike stand) and then take a bottle jack (or equivalent) and support the engine, Unbolt the isolator, put anti-seize on the new isolator and reinstall and torque down....

If i am way off or anyone have an easier/better way please let me know...

you're real close to the step by step -- grab a svc manual, and wrench away, Belt --

On my M2 I had to take the tank off to get at the isolator. Make sure to twist the nut, not the bolt, when you unfasten the isolator from the front mount. The nut has a flat that must be pointed forward when installed and tightened.

Check the torque on the front mount fasteners while you're at it.

I've heard of guys wrapping a nylon ratchet strap around the frame and the bottom of the engine. This seems more secure than a bottle jack but again, I'm no expert.
