RUMOR HAS IT THAT THE REASON THEY USED A BONE STOCK UNDER POWERED SPORTY MOTOR ON THE S2 WAS BECAUSE THE BOTTOM END COULD NOT TAKE THE POWER UPGRADES..LIKE THUNDERHEADS/PISTONS, AND LIGHTER FLY WHEELS.
ANYONE ELSE HEAR ANY RUMORS WHY THE S2 MAKES THE WORST DONOR BIKE FOR THOSE CHOPPER PROJECT??

Oh, YEAH- STAY AWAY FROM THEM IF YOU'RE MAKING A CHOPPER... EVERYONE I KNOW WHO'S BUILT ONE FROM AN S2 HAS EXPERIENCED IMMEDIATE ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION...

95 S2 102,500 miles, T'Stormed the motor (including the lightened flywheels from the S1) @ 36,000 miles, ridden hard and put away dirty always. What does that tell you? To me it says the S2's bottom end is perfectly fine!

It makes perfect sense why the S2 'only' had a stock Sportster motor. First product with H-D's involvement (only 49% at that time), initially planning only 400 units for 1995. What's the lowest volume H-D Screamin' Beagle bike?

BTW, The Buell S2 had 10% more Hp and Torque than the stock Sporty motor because of it's air cleaner and exhaust.

...ya, I heard the S2 motors had bad oil passages and fracture prone casings with junkie seams that never sealed well; always weeping fluids like an infected dick. Because of the poor relations between the union and non-union workers the engine plant was sending all the reject motors to Buell for the S2 bikes...all the S2 motors were pure junk and we're lucky they haven't grenaded.

I think I read somewhere that S2 engines had an unusual amount of plutonium in the castings which leads to a high rate of cancer in the owners.
Also, I think the engines are haunted.

I hear that the best engine for a chopper is a YZ250.
That's what's going to be powering Orange County's new "post office themed chopper"

Ya know joking around is a lot of fun until someone loses an eye. To get serious about this, it's quiet knowledge that depleted uranium and plutonium are used to increase the mass of the crank without increasing the diameter. This is how they increase horsepower & torque and rev fast by decreasing centrifugal mass in motion. It's a dirty little secret the alpha particles are accelerated by the pistons directly into the genitals of chopper riders. It's not as big a problem when women ride the choppers but with men on a chopper it can increase the risk of testicular cancer and lower sperm count. On the stock Buell bikes the particles deflect off the bottom of the odd shaped fuel tank and harmlessly penetrate the road surface. On a chopper the dynamics of this system are destroyed. If the chopper is ridden by a man their testosterone level can drop, they grow breasts and the penis shrinks or atrophies and falls completely off. A pretty high price to pay if you ask me. Honda motors do not have this particular problem. Den

and, unfortunately, that depleted uranium and plutonium was being sold by afghanis to support the taliban...
Thos S2s are simply better left alone

You are so right, photoionizable discharge (PID) causing a form of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID). So much safer to buy a crate motor or just use one of the plentiful Japanese power plants.

yes- those japanese mills actually increase
testosterone production as a result of the much higher-frequency soundfield generate dby their whining primary chains...it's all very scientific, you know....

I read an article in the wall street journal that said that Harley-Davidson wasn't going to sell parts for S2 engines anymore since they're all metric inside.

It's a proven fact that the high frequency of the Japanese primary chain is identical to the resonant frequency of a sperm tail. As a consequence the tail couples the sound waves which increases propulsion and motility rate exponentially. After the Japanese lost the second world war this was a secret plan to dominate the world through population. The Japanese underestimated motorcycle exports and therefore after a quick Japanese population boom following the second world war the rest of the world experienced the same "baby boom".

The high front end of a chopper coupled with engine location and the "primary effect" focus on the pelvic region of the rider. Thus ensuring the rider is disproportionately more apt to reproduce upon dismounting, something chopper riders apparently need to prove they are capable of anyway. The reasons for utilizing this type of power plant are therefore well beyond simple engineering and in the realm of positive self image and bordering upon spirituality. Utilizing any other type of power is obvious blasphemy. This information should be especially useful in the bible belt states. Den

...Also due to the depleted uranium in the crank, If one is using the engine on a chopper they have removed the special lead coating on the frame that acts as a shield to keep the uranium from becoming radioactive. If the engine is used on a chopper and someone uses a microwave in a 3 mile radius the uranium becomes radioactive. Which might cause premature balding or one might their pants and forget their name for three weeks. The worse case scenario is a small nuclear explosion(usually in the seat area where the seat meets the tank).

hear and i thought it was the sight differences between a s2 and a sportster motor. a s2 motor can only use special s2 designated parts for repairs. these parts were only made a couple years around 94-96. most of these parts and supply have been used up. repair prices have sky rocketed. on the other hand sportster motors are a dime a dozen and prices for repair parts are cheep as hell. even though sportster part will bolt up to a s2 motor. slight differences will cause problematic oil leaks, premature detonation, and finally detonation. either of the latter destroy the front rod bearing and pretty much end up costing exorbarant amount of money in rebuild costs and usually a trip to the hospital.

JT,

A little history lesson from the October 1993 issue of Cycle World:
Oct 1993 Cycle World cover
Oct 1993 Cycle World 2
Oct 1993 Cycle World 3
Oct 1993 Cycle World 4

So I was wrong with 10%, it was actually 20%...
