Well, I had the recall done on my 00 M2 today. It did take some fighting but after a few I got them to get it done. With the new shock and dyno time for jetting she feels like a whole new bike.
For anyone running the M2 that needs the recall GET IT DONE. I just cant get over the change in the ride. The bike was killer in the turns before. But now it feels as tho shes running on flypaper. I think I took many a mile off the rubber tonight.

hey court, since you're the all knowing on these type of things, I have had some trouble with my local HD shop about my bike and maybe you can tell me what they are suppose to be doing with my claim.

Long story short: In july '04, i went to my local shop and asked them to check on the recalls for my bike '95 S2. They said there were none, and I knew this was BS. they simply would not do anything, even though i think they were legally liable?
Anywho...december, '04, I take my bike to another shop after my coil shock takes a shat on me and they perform all the recalls on my bike(newswingarm and shock mainly).

Well, i havn't ridden my bike much since then due to mechanical issues, and now that ive gotten it going my rear shock is leaking oil out of the front seal.

Ive put maybe 1000 miles since the recall items were done, and i think that this is unacceptable that when i went back to the HD shop, they told me that the recall items had no warantee and i am stuck with buying a new shock. is this true, or are these guys giving me a run around?

Buell On!

Yes the recall is a whole new shock. They use the 01 shock with the oil remote. For dealership headaches..... It took me two months of fighting. At first everything was golden. The service manager did his recall look up and found the recall easy enough. Then I am told "We will call you when the part gets in." After calling twice a week for three weeks to check if it was in. I take a drive to see them in person. They say it's on back order. Little did they know I had a friend in my car on the cell phone who was talking with the parts dept. in the same shop. He was calling to order a new shock for a 01 M2. What do you know but he was told he could come in and pick one up today because it was in stock. So he came in after the call and told me what was said. At this point I am PIZZED OFF BIG TIME and tell the service guy what I had just done. I didnt know people could turn that many colors of red. After he walked away from the counter for a few he comes back saying "Sorry the part was miss tagged & yes we have one" So I set it up for service three more weeks out from there.
A headache YES was it worth the time YES. I love my Buell, but after the headaches and need to pull a trick with service. I dont know if I would ever buy a new Buell. Not because of the bike, Just a fear of bad service thats left a bad taste in my mouth.
Dont take that wrong. I am a buell junkie that loves them & will buy another. It just helped me make up my mind that I wont buy new.

You also get an updated shock mount to go along with the 2001 reservoir shock.
