Whats the consensus on belt tension. I've read several posts about the factory recommended belt tension being to tight. What are you running your belts at? I have about 2" slack on the bottom of the belt now with me sitting on the bike. (97 S1) Thanks in advance. Hodakaguy.

You want about 1" travel when sitting on the bike, I've been running that since 98 after having my fifth gear main shaft replaced cause the dealer/factory spec was way to tight!!!

I run in between 1 an 2 inches, no problem in 3 years!

Two inches one-way free play with the suspension fully extended is what I aim for.
