I just installed an aluminum catch can from American Sport Bike. I was tired of oil spitting on the shock and in front of the rear tire. I mounted it on my Banke frame brace, It fits there pretty well and its out of the way. It's very well made although a little on the pricey side. Thought you might like a look. Hodakaguy

Looks good. I like seeing everyone's solution to the same problem. It's interesting to see where everyone locates their cans.

I want a big one quart can. Right now I'm using a modified oil bottle but need something more uh, refined.

Rick...I sure hope that is for aesthetics and you don't need one that large for a day, week or even a months ride.

Well, truth be told, as soon as I can save enough for some serious motor parts it's gonna do double duty as a track bike. A one quart catch can is mandatory. If I keep her pinned for an extended period she'll spew some oil. That's another thing I'll be fixing later as well.

Interesting. Am looking forward to hear how you do on the track. With your enthusiasm I believe you will do well and the track would be the best place to apply your unfortunate experiences from the street. LOL

LOL, I have much in the way of enthusiasm but unfortunately the skills are lacking. Anyway I'm sure it'll be a fun endeavor and if all else fails I'll have one kick streetbike. Hopefully, unless something dramatic happens (as has been the case the last couple years) things will be ready for next year.

Hodakaguy:
Man I just can't get over how nice your ride looks, have you noticed an improvement with the
frame brace? or the damper?

Sadly My sled must remain out side getting caca on it, at least its secure and out of the sun

Hodakaguy,

I have that same catch can mounted in the same spot on my X1. It still coated everything near it in an oil mist so I relocated the filter down near the exhaust exit. Problem solved.

Check out http://www.saintjohn.nbcc.nb.ca/marriott/x1
and info on puking. You may want to catch that oil with a Jaz catchcan part# 605-375-01. (3/8 inch fittings). The dimensions are 2 3/8" round and 7 3/8" long from tip to tip. Approx. cost $45... available from speed shops or Behrent's Speed Center Inc.

Thanks for the compliments, I'm slowly getting it finished up, all thought I don't know if it will ever be "finished". I still want to add a Banke shifter and brake and a spurgin or jagg oil cooler to the mix. The steering stabilizer works great! It's easily adjusted way down for in town riding and I can reach down and adjust it up if I'm going to do some aggressive back road riding. I'm not sure how much the banke brace works, I'm sure it helps but to tell the truth I liked the looks of it and thats how it ended up on the bike. FTD, do you have any closer pics of your catch can install? Hodakaguy
