Axle covers, great way to hide the rust and cheaper than stainless bolts and nuts, well on my bike it is! :)

Rick, the rearsets are a custom make by Banke. I called him and we spoke several times over the phone, giving him info: my measurments and where I wanted my feet to fit, keeping passenger pegs, X-1 Chin fairing and the 99 swingarm. Then, I actually placed the order with Orlando HD/Buell. He made them in about 3 weeks. The bracket that bolts to the isolator mounting holes I had black pwdr coated. Other parts I polished. The brake side is very sweet, he also included a braided hose and block for the brake switch to fit the newer swing arm. I made the resivoir to mstr cyl hose braided and then added the billet resivoir and brake switch cover.
With the x-roads bars the bike handles much better. I can get my gut down on the tank comfortably. the cost was about $650 complete. Well worth it.

Blake, I do have a list of mods and I'll add some more info and create a quick board ? to list it. I enjoy riding and building. She looks good but a riding bike first then a show bike. I took her out last night about 1:am for a high speed run, full leather with bail money. Awesome !

Hauck...

I think the choice to get the warranty or not depends on how good your interactions will be with your local dealer. Here in Cincinnati for a long time, the only Buell dealer was Eastgate Buell, and you could not pay me to deal with them again... so for me an extended warranty would have been a waste of money (even though I have had plenty of stuff break), as every little repair would have been screwed up two or three times, they would have made me wait a month or two to get the bike in for service, and constantly would have screwed up getting the right parts in a timely manner.

As it is, I only lost a day or two of riding over the entire season due to mechanical issues. Had I depended on the dealer for service, I would have literally lost three months over pretty minor issues (really).

(Fortunately for me Harley of Tri-County is now a Buell dealer, and is willing to service the Cyclone even though they don't sell them, and seems to be a pretty good place to work with).

Now if I was in Dallas or Modesto, I would get the warranty in a heartbeat, as they are dealers that bend over backwards to do the job right.

Also take into consideration how easy and how much fun these things are to work on. Of all the problems I have had, I have not actually put out much money, just time mainly, and frankly most of that was pretty enjoyable. Have not had a problem yet that could not be fixed for less then $100 and a couple nights work.

Heck, you could even loose the main counter shaft bearing on these things and probably have it out and replaced in a couple evenings work and $50 or so.

Thanks for the advice. The service of my local dealer has been great in the past so I think I'm going to go with the warrantee.
Any thoughts on the pros and cons of a hyper charger vs. a force wind(price, looks, hp)?

Hauck,

If you are over 5"7 DO NOT get the hyper charger. It will hit your knee and is very uncomfortable. The Force Winder gives great knee room and flows very well. They all give about the same hp numbers and all are expensive.

I like the Force! Just personal preference.

Thanks for the info. That's a gorgeous machine you have, BTW. Late nights/early mornings there's a Sherrif on the prowl that has my number. Bastard is a real kill joy...all the money in tickets could've got me some sweet parts.
