It must be a very easy job to work as a designer at Yamaha, or any japanese motorcycle company. Just steal from american motorcycles. Here´s their latest "plunder". S1 wannabe!!!

Still doesn't look like any Buell I ever saw!

Hate to tell you this, but we beat the MT-01 to death on another thread a while back.

The only sad part is you folks in Europe get it at least a year before we do. Waaaaa!!!

I would really love just to have that frame kit too. I think it would be really tough with a V-rod motor. Build the Buell that Buell should be building now. You guys that have XB's i'm not bagging on your bike, I just wonder why not the v-rod motor on a slightly more classic style. Or at least the v-rod motor on the existing bike would be SWEET!

I don't even want to talk about that Yamaha. It is just a Buell, Confedrate, Eccosse wanna be. the japanese are trying to swipe the last vestige of american and brit bikes. P.S. I'm not anti asian bike I currently own a 550 Maxim and am converting a 750 kawaski Ltd into a chopper. My heart is in my X-1 though, at least until chopper project is done.

Bill, check out the Arizona Bueller's section in storm fronts : ).

Talkin' about Whiskey Row -

One time I had a couple too many so I decided I should walk home. Not wanting to leave my pistol in my truck I walked over to it, got the pistol out and walked home.

The next morning I rolled outta bed about 12 and I couldn't find my keys... I walked back to the truck which was parked about dead center along whiskey row to find that I had left the keys on the tonau cover. There were a LOT of people in the square due to a weekend tourist attraction event. No one had touched them or the truck. Lucky me as the truck is #482 of 806...

This is Yamaha's site for the MT-01. Sign up for their mailing list. I did and it has been a lot of fun so far.

We were at the Vortex. Read about the Vortex in Motorcyclist magazine, Best motorcycle cities section.
It was bike night tonight.
All the usual suspects.

Then this bike rolls up demanding all of my attention. You can see why.

that old Vincent is way cool. If the pics do it any kind of justice, I can see why it demanded your attention. A true example of motorcycle craftsmanship, gotta love em!

There was the Rapide, and then the Black Shadow... if I remember correctly the hottest Vincent was the Black Lightning - all black and very minimal, basically a big air-cooled twin and a pair of wheels... 40 or so years later there's a White Lightning - basically a big air-cooled twin and a pair of wheels...

Oh yeah, old Vincents were the baddest bikes on the planet in their day. I also think they were the best looking.

This shadow is very sweet.
He's got another one as well as some vintage Guzzis.
Every Bike Night so far this year there has been at least one unique bike. And here's the best part, they're ridden!

M1 - It is sort of refreshing to hear that you left your keys and the truck was still there when you went to get it. It wouldn't happen in a lot of neighborhoods. I would like to mention that Arizona is a right to carry state and gives those who take the course and pass the test to bear or is it bare arms (always get confused on that one).

Many years ago, in my misspent youth, I had and took the opportunity to ride a very nice Vincent
Rapide. It was very fast, even at today's standards. It didn't seem to handle well and it certainly didn't like to stop! Notice the brakes on the bike in the photos, not much braking power.

It did give a rush that my Triumph Daytona didn't give me.

Hey glitch, that pic looks like a vincent HRD model, not a Shadow. I'm just going by the fact it says HRD on the tank and a shadow has a slightly diffent front end and larger engine.go to www.harrisvincentgallery.com . these guys restore and sell Vincents. Also check out the spring 2004 Robb report. has a write up on these guys and some cool pics

A member of our local Buell club is on a 3,000 mile trip on his Egli Vincent, Black Shadow engine I believe. He did about 2,000 on it last month.

I did about 15 miles on it a week ago and I can say it is an aquired taste, like a jackhammer in each hand as the engine is a solid mount. He has a race type drum on the front of his, the biggest drum brake I've ever seen on a bike, and it still stops hard. He commented the XB was a Cadillac in comparison and I agree.

He favors the handling to his S3.

Tom_b, I stand corrected. Thanks for the link too.
I ain't sayin if I had one I ride it all the time like I do the XB. Just that I would ride it, and I'm attracted to the bike for what it is, and always will be.

Yes it will, you just watch. In another 5-6 years Buell is going to blow up. They are going to start producing and selling bikes in much greater numbers and these first run XB's are going to be sought after way down the line.

Mark my words.

They only made mine for two years.
Maybe when the fuel framers are as obsolete as the tube framers are now mine'll be worth the four grand you can get for yours now ; )

Here's a pic of my buddy Mike lusting after Herb Harris' (of www.harrisvincentgallery.com) Brough Superior SS80 at the Austin Roadrunners bike show a couple of months ago:

SS80

If you want to see more pics from the show, I posted them on the Hill Country HellBuellies site under "Non-Buell". Also note the Grape Blast! and Crazy Carl's S2 in the background.
