I thought initially that you had just exposed the fuel cell under the tank cover but on closer inspection that looks like a complete tank/cover.

What is it?

Simond.
Nice to hear from someone this side of the pond.Very observant,it is a fiber glass tank cover, made in Germany by a company called Hillbilly motors; www.hillbilly-motors.com .I am surprised you have not heard of them. They have some truly amazing stock for all Buell,s.Their site is in German but you will be able to scan through it easily enough, well worthwhile. If you phone ask for Jens he speaks good english and is a mine of information regarding Buell,s.Bye for now let me know what you think of their products.
Richard.

Here's another shot. You can see how much snow is still on the ground. The water from the melting snow made the roads a bit dicey at time but it was a great ride.Xena in the snow

Beautiful, reminds me of Oregon. Are Buells more expensive there?

Richard,

had a look. Interesting site.
I haven't seen a Buell around Dublin before. There was a guy in Swords that was putting one together. I'm occasionally over there around the Malahide/Portmarnock area but not very often on a bike these days.

Bikes aren't too much more expensive here. Service is quite a bit more expensive. An oil change, new brake fluid, and 2 new tires is gonna run me nearly $800! But, at least the mountains have some beautiful scenery, good roads, and aren't crowded.Another shot of Xena in the snow

Forgot to mention H.S.A. another German site they have almost identical cover in carbon fibre as well as glass fibre, also you could check R.R.C. surprise it also is German. You allready know about L.S.L. I have a set of their crash mushrooms, not easy to see in the photo, good quality, how do you rate their rearsets, what handle bars are you using. How do you find the Maxton,I checked their site, that shock looks the business.I find the stock set up on the X1 pretty good but have experienced substantial flex on ton up sweepers.I am no expert but I suspect the swing arm isolators could have something to do with that. You are right about the absence of Buell,s in Dublin, I have never seen another one on the road, only in the Harley shop.If you ever plan a trip over here on your bike let me know, some great roads in Wicklow, one mile from my place to the mountains, sweet roads no plod what more could you ask for. Have a think about the B.S.B. round in Mondello. Let you know the date later. Bye for now.
Richard.

Richard,
this is my X1. There are a few RRC parts on there. The rear sets are probably the single best improvement I've made. I needed the clearance for track work but I find the riding position much more comfortable, particularly at high speed. They really tighten the gear change too.
The Maxton is good but they are not making Buell shocks anymore. I don't ride very hard on the road but at track days it is very secure through and particularly out of the bends. The way you can pull past much more powerful bikes on the exit is great - almost makes up for the fact that they come flying back past me on the straights!!
PM me the details of the Mondello round - you never know.

Simon.
Very nice, shame about the Maxton. I had strongly thought of investing in one when I could afford it. You do not mention if you have a race kit E.C.M. If you do not have one get it before it is too late, they are being taken off the market, but some dealers might have old stock. I find it makes a big differance to performance. It might help to keep those in line fours in range, in fact I am sure it will. I have had some intense sport with older Fireblades and R6,s up in the hills.
Bye for now.
Richard.

Richard - yes I do have the race ECM, however, the first time I used it on a track day, my header failed at the collector. Looking forward to giving it a better chance this year.

All right, here you go. This is done in reflective tape, I'll try and get a good picture in the daylight tomorrow.

BadWeb

I asked permission first. Thanks Blake. Got tired of asking companies and them telling me no, they didn't have gold reflective tape for this. I ordered the tape and did it myself. Did Both sides.
