Happy NFO On Buell. Tantalus road is VERY tight, app. 13 miles of hairpins.. It runs up one rigde, around a valley, then down another ridge, all overlooking Down town Waikiki/Honolulu.

I lived on Monsarrat on the side of Diamond Head Mauka of Kap Park. Used to ride H-1 to Pali lookout then come home around your side of the island. I wasn't military so I didn't spend much time around the bases. I am thinking real hard right now about moving back. I miss the islands alot.

It's great here, except for shipping parts and stuff. I'm getting killed there. Also, Buell experts are tough to find for difficult jobs.

Home hunting:
My wishes:
Low maintenance costs.
Free from narrow enclosing neighbors.
My Buell behind doors.
ADSL available.
Must have backyard.
Well, We had found some houses to think about when the time would be there when our house was sold. We did sell our house very fast and that was the green light to start the bargaining: But I wanted Just ONE house more, to widen our scope. Bargaining is much easier when you have really good alternatives.
That last house was an jewel inside. Almost too good to be true. And my wishes?
Step outside and have a look:
double garage with red door
And behind the red door:
Behind red door

Have to confess that I could not hide my enthusiasm and that we paid somewhat more than the price we might have achieved with really though bargaining, but hey, we got it !!!

Hans

Bomber, NO, I DID try but no, not the goodies, and you see only the half of it: There is more: His grid blasting contraption, his big tools. And the pin holed board you can see is movable on rails: In front only his inch wrenches. The metric stuff is hidden behind. That man has even stainless steel garden tools, go figure.
First after they told us their strong and plausible reasons to leave, I dared to be happy.

Hans . . . I'm thinking you should ALWAYS dare to be happy . . . .thanks for reminding me at the end of the kinda cloudy day!

if nothing else, the karma in your new play house should be very good . . . . you should feel comfortable instantly!

Hans, congratulations. The whole house shopping deal is hard enough as it is - but to find such a perfect situation as you did makes it all worth it.
Enjoy : D

Wow!

Action/Adventure is right!

This last weekend, SB Jim, KidCooCoo and myself had the distinct pleasure of being led by Ferris and Dino through Ferrisville, then into the Southern Sierra's and on up into Yosemite.

We were told lunch would be taken care of...at the Thunderdome overlooking Lake Isabella!

On our ascent up the road leading to the Thunderdome we were greeted by Denise, waving from high above on the balcony. One could easily imagine being a conquering hero, returning to the castle, with a beautiful maiden elated at your return. You are a fortunate man Ferris. Upon arriving we found a feast awaiting us, prepared by Denise, we ate to our hearts content, and then set out on our sortie of straffing the Southern Sierras.

It's difficult for me to sit and try how best to capture the experience in words, but just let me say this, ...more than once I thought to myself...'there connot possibly be anywhere better in the world right now'. The bike was strong, the road was twisty and smooth, the trees were thick and green, the mountain air was refreshingly good to breath in deep. Totally exhilarating!

Ok, on to the pics.

Making a repair in Lake Isabella.

Repairs

At the top of a particularly satisfying stretch.

Perma Grins

It is truly awe inspiring to be riding your Buell along the valley floor, looking up at the grandure of Yosemite. This is a lookout that looks back upon where you have just been. Notice Half Dome in the distance and the waterfall to the right. TOTALLY cool to ride past that stuff.

Some of the bikes, outside our cabins.

My bike after 1,247 miles of pure excitement. Sheesh!
