Look at my Helms.

High days & holidays:

Ooops! Sorry wrong pic!

Caberg Trip, good helmet for the money (£90 UK).Had to do a bit of minor modification to it so it would function as intended (clear visor action/de-misting vents).

Gonna try a Schuberth next.

Is the caberg a round shell or an oval one? Same question about the shape of the schuberth.

I'm very interested in the full face helmets with the internal smoke shield, If the New Scorpion (exo 1000) is slightly less
round than their previous offerings I may look at one of them next.

I am currently using a polar optics shield on my Arai's clear screen, but I'm getting tired of fooling with swapping
the screens/removing or replacing the polar optics shield.

I still do not want to compromise on safety so a modular is out and I also want it to be as quiet as possible.

I know, I don't ask much

Diablobrian - you may want to look into the Fog City Hyperoptic shield insert. It is an automatically adjusting optical grade insert that adheres to the inside of the clear shield. It offers outstanding range in tint and changes from lightest to darkest (and visa versa) in four seconds. My riding buddies all use them so I got one and I think it is well worth the $45-$50. Check it out.

I tried one of those and I wasn't happy with it. It didn't get dark enough to suit me. I have fairly light sensitive eyes.

The Caberg is more round than oval,it's certainly very comfy.
I take it you mean round on the horizontal plane, not vertical.
I've not studied the Schuberth yet,it's certainly preferable to see the helmet and try it on before buying.

The Schuberth would be much quieter, pricey but worth it.
Google it and check out the many varied designs if you've not already.

Old news, walked away from that one. Technically limped away, broke my foot. Was wearing full gear, except I had cheap kmart construction boots, not motorcycle race ones. Gear took a beating from a 60mph lowside and tumble, Bike didn't fare as well. More carnage here : )

Wow Frogy. seems like every possable thing that could break or bend or even dissapear Did! What a heartbraker surveying all the bits, seems like just when you got it all, that you spot something more. You look "body wise" to have come out pretty good, though I bet you didnt think so for the first hour or so. dang man!.....

Don't count the goose out...until the box is in the ground!

I was looking for a relatively inexpensive, light, well ventilated street helmet for in-town summer use. After much looking and some inspiration from my favorite movie I had an idea...

This was my inspiration:

This is my modern interpretation:

People always tell me my bike looks like something out of the movie, anyway.

Can't say enough about Dainese helmets. Full gear let me walk away from a crash that started well north of the speed limit!
