Thanks Blake !
I saw a XB12 yesterday and even though I'm sorely disapointed in its frame size and motor, Blake you were right..it is a sweet looking bike.
Jeff ! you have to come out to bike night at S&S on thursdays and hang with us for a while. A local Bueller who posts here too has a XB9 and had his pipes coated blue also. Looks really very nice on the white bike ala X1W.
Steve, I'm not yet convinced on the durability. Excellent people to work with, made up the color match for me, did it a day early too. I have only 120 miles so far. No heat discoloration at all, I made a small install scratch from a burr on my socket as I was doing a header bolt, but so far so good ! Done locally by a Hyper Coat shop here in Orlando Fla. I'll get you more info if you want.

Thamx Seeeu911. I'm out of Lakeland, FL. Good to see some locals. I used to sell at Lakeland HD, but didn't fit "their" image of a Harley salesman. With that color on a bike you can see what I mean.

Scott, you fit right into the Buell world ! I need to come down to Lakeland for a ride soon. Perhaps I can get some of the Orlando boys , Jeff hint hint to ride out. I get emails for your chapter info, and another pal Clydeglide is close there too.
Spidey here is a link to the flames. http://www.fieryfx.com/lfmc.htm Buy them from ebay or anywhere where you can, prices are cheaper on the net if you look. I got the metalic black ones and buried them under 6-8 coats of clear. Even without the clear they hold really well. I had a tank only set for 1 year and only on one tip did it lift up. I've done so much mechanical work on the bike, but when seen in person most everyone just sees the 3d effect of the flames. My bike always, always has hand prints from people rubbing the tank.
Jeff, mostly no hasles from the constabulary lately. Most of the hoolignism has quit and as a result more bikes of all types are there.
Brad, see a topic i am starting over in quick board about a Britten tribute S1. I'd like your input.

Some random pics...

Me in rain mode at Saddle Gap Saloon, Oklahoma. We were on the way home from a great weekend spent tearing up the roads of the Arkansas Ozarks. Traversing Skyline Drive in thick fog, driving wind, and rain was also an exciting adventure.

Keith and Buells parked along AR 341 aka Push Mountain Road. Outstanding! 25 mph? Ya, right.
Yeah right, 25 mph
If you are ever near this road, give it a run.

Left Kilgore with a new tire. The Arkansas roads give good grip. The D205's finally gave up.

Between scraping/dragging the thing, and the beastly vibration of the Nallinized Cyclone, the little race can didn't stand a chance. It was ejectulated in the Texas Hill country and left for the coyotes. I now know what "real loud" is. :]

Blake,
It looks like you guys had a good time in Arkansas. I went down to the Eureka Springs area a few months ago with the KC Mob, and we had a blast. I still can't get those S curves out of my mind. It was definitely worth the trip!!

Bad Blake, ignoring your recalls. The can wouldn't have hit the ground if you had the Race Muff recall installed. Did it fly clear when it went, or did you run/fly over it?

I noticed my Race Muff cracking around the inlet at 10K miles, had it welded by WesTek and it has gone another 20K. My race header has been welded twice and is now held together by Miracle Glue (JB Weld!). Hey, don't laugh, it keeps me ridin & grinin.

Blake,
what's with the Yankee cap? Great pics, you ever consider just running slicks or do you only do right turns in the rain?

Blake spends a lot of time at Oak hill track, there is to many hard left turns.

Neil,
The Ozarks are by far the best riding closest to East Texas. Sooo many great roads, so little time.

Trip,
Yep, I'm an idiot. I felt a slight bump and the rear tire showed evidence of a slight cut on the left side tread; pretty sure I ran over it. I can still see it cartwheeling through the air about ten feet up and landing in the weeds on the left side of the road.

Matt,
I spent almost a year working in NJ just 40 minutes from the Bronx. Made the Yankee vs Boston game at Yankee Stadium. Cool place. Great hats. Plus I guess it's my meager effort to show solidarity with NYC after 9/11 and also to face down the small but annoying anti-yankee redneck contingent down here.

I certainly was risking disaster with those tires on a wet surface. Even on the right side the tread was worn woefully past the wear markers. Luckily I didn't encounter a submerged road surface on the way home, just light mist and drizzle. For some reason, the rear tires don't seem to last like they did pre-Nallinizing.

Cowboy,
Good to see you online. Sure enjoyed meeting you and your son at the CMRA races at OHR in September. You are right about the track there. I actually swap around my race tires to get the most out of them on both sides. Dang things are expensive. I need to get back out to the track for some more practice. Just need to decide what I want to do for a muffler.

While a lot of you are covered in snow and it is cold and raining here on the lower east coast, I though I'd remind you of those cool August days in the Mts. of North Carolina. This is from last August during my week of bliss near Bakersville. Can't wait till spring. With the wife being in Iraq and my time spent mostly at work and building a house I have neglected the poor Buell. To make up for it I am almost finished with an 800 square foot garage for her. Spring is only 3 months away.
