Nice looking bike btw... Love the look of those Diablos.
My recent purchase came down to the Sunset orange XB12Ss or the Cherry Bomb XB12S. I obviously decided on the Long and am happy with it, but man, yours makes that cherry bomb option a nice one.

Thanks Glitch - I think. Nobody has every called my Buell mice before. Hey, BTY, where are you in the states? You seem to frequent some very attractive HWY's. I'd like to ride witch-a.

Ghalsey- Love what you've done with your Ss. The license plate mount is so CHOPPER. I am fond of the absence of the belt guards too. I'm buying smaller ones from Franks-Parts in Germany. What other mod's do you have planned?

I'm over here in North East Georgia.
Come on over, I can show you some of the best roads ever.

You can count on hearing from me just as soon as I can cut loose. I'm not sure how long that might be. Thanks for the invite! In the mean time, I'll share some shots from where I live (NorCal Coast. This is heading east, on HWY36, right before it gets very interesting.

Kedo - XB is perfect bike for Hwy 36! Wife and I rode 36 for the 1st time two years ago, west to east, most of it in the dark (unplanned)... lost count of deer, and serious pucker in the eastmost section swells, since we had no idea of what was around the next bend or over the next hill! Great road!

Kedo,
Thanks for your words... I am pretty pumped about how its turning out. Considering I have had the bike for a week now.
I planned on wrapping the headers but once I found out how labor intensive it was to remove them I put the kibosh on that plan pretty quick.
I am prolly gonna paint the grey part of the chin fairing the same flat black I painted the muffler.
I want to get some black or red shorty levers and that might be it. Until I decide to change colors.
I am probably going to be removing the badges soon too. Like the one on the windscreen and the letters on the tank. Not sure yet though.

Any plans for yours?

Yep- I'm putting on Crossroads Clip-ons, Really clean and tidy belt guards from Frank-Parts in Germany and SATO rear sets (when I can plunk down the $600). I am also getting black annodized air scoops to help the open air box from Trojan-Horse in the UK. They are low profile and go where the BUELL lettering is on the cover. Should look wicked. For yours, I will suggest CRG levers, and black jet-hot ceramic coating for your exhaust header. You will be STOKED.

Sweatmark- Let me know the next time you're passing through and we'll do my favorite loop: 101 to 36 to 299 to 101. It takes about 6 hours and is 250 miles of heaven. Spring and fall are the best. Not too hot or cold and fewer tourists. If you spend some time here, there are other classic rides too. Cheers.

The next thing I do with my bike will more than likely be to re-do the suspension, and this winter I'll probably re-do the engine.
The suspension will be top notch, the engine will be pretty much stock, nothing real fancy.

Ghalsey, what's with your front fairing (or number plate if you prefer to call it that)? Did you lower it an inch? If so, why?

Cereal,
Yeah I lowered it. Lined up the top holes on the windscreen with the bottom ones on the errr... front assembly.
Then nipped the heads off the bottom screws and taped em back in.
I did it cause it looks cool. And no... it doesn't effect nighttime riding very much.

How did you do it? Photoshop? What filter or effect?
Your guess is correct, I used Photoshop.
The effect/filter I used was Threshold.
Step One: take a picture thats reasonably clean. We'll use this one...

Using the Clone Brush, I got rid of the shadow on the side, and the orange cone, and got this...

Next go to Image>Adjustments>Threshold.
Use the slider to get as much or as little detail as you'd like.
Once that is done, crop it down to what you'd like to see in the end.
We get this...

Next select only the black.
Copy, then paste into an new document, making sure that when you do, that the background selection is set to transparent.
Once pasted in, go to, File>Save For Web.
And there you have it...

Very cool Glitch, I have always used PaintShop Pro from Jasc. But it does pretty much everything Photoshop can do. The problem I run into at least here at work is that Photoshop is the industry standard and seems to be on EVERY computer, but I get lost in it very fast. While at the same time I zip around in PSP. Thanks for the tip, I may play around with that a bit and see what I can get out of my pics of my bike!

Paint Shop Pro, never has gotten the recognition it deserves.
It's a very good paint program, very easy to use as well.
Be warned though, trying to use both Photoshop, and Paint Shop Pro during the same day, may cause your head to explode!

Digital manipulation can be fun! I mean manipulation of digital pictures - man, where is your mind?!?!

Here's a manipulated digital image of my S2 that a colleague and close friend gave me for Christmas, nicely framed.

Framed pic of S2 #1313

And a closer, more detailed shot of it.

Here's one of me messing around with a pic of me on Jeremy McWilliams XBRR after the 2006 Daytona 200.

XBRR devil

I changed the 999 on the tail section to 666 using 'poor mans photoshop' - Paint.
This next one, Glitch was kind enough to put the personalization on for me using photoshop and after that I manipulated the image. (Don't worry Glitch, I still have the original you did!)

Is there a badweb discount on T-Shirts?

Man, where is your mind?

My first thought was 'If I order a shirt does she come with it?'. And then came: Maybe the shirt she is wearing in the pic could be auctioned off for the Matt Ware benefit?

Wait a second! Where's my mind?!?!

Court told me to 'be weird'. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
