Grizzly, they had a segment on your new scoot on 'Motorcyclist' last night -- nice.
Are you going to keep the knobby tires on and where are those big _____ saddle bags?

Happy trails, Steve(2)

Sandstorm,
To big for offroad ???
They won the Paris-Dakar Ralley 2 years ago on these machines.

The knobbies are only for dirtdays. Streetdays will be riden on Dunlop 207 ZR. Take your Buell and meet me on a race circuit. You'll be very suprised what these Battleships can do

Steve(2)
The "saddlebags" are for Long travels only. Sometimes I use the Topcase when I go to work.

I AM lucky and feel that way, but...
Look into my hart and you'll find a spot that still says BUELL. That machine gave me more then good memorys, it brought me some of my best friends. Still does
Due to a health problem, I cant ride sport bikes no more. I look at the bright side.....the GS Adventure

Grizzly, congratulations.
Sturdy bike, two aircooled cylinders, tubular frame, almost naked. Nothing wrong with.
Happy rides.
Hans.

Griz: I want one. But, wasn't the 650 single the BMW that most recently won the Dakar? I think Jimmy Lewis (American Rider) took the big GS to a laudable top five finish in the Dakar rally a few years back? He did win a few stages, the ones where top speed gave him a big advantage over the KLR and Beemer singles. Not sure though, I could be wrong.

Blake,
Look at that pic with the 2 Beemers jump.
Both Boxers in the PD.
GS's won the Paris Dakar 4 times.
If memory service me well..(Just an old f#C$er according to PPIA )
Last time BMW won is 3 years ago, they had places 1,2,3,4 and 5 (GS and 650).
After that BMW quitted with the GS's and KTM took over full force and whipped out concurence.

I.M.H.O., would BMW enter the PD with the GS next year, they surely would give KTM a good fight for the tittle.
PPIA please correct me if I'm wrong, You followed the GS story longer then I have.
