A mentally ill woman murdered children at a Christian school. Her peers blame the religion, the Republicans, and guns. Certainly not the multiple calls to violence, rape, and murder of people they disagree with, and certainly not the murderer. 28? Years old is a real long time, a decade? to seethe over past insults. Brutal honesty, for many, High school is a hell of rejection by self appointed elite snobs and tiny groups of Mean Girls, of both sexes, yes, but dang! teen girls are vicious monsters. I did get angry and want to go to high school and "show them all", but I was raised better and didn't have antisocial media egging me on. I absolutely have never considered as an adult returning to school to murder complete stranger's children who did nothing to me. I'm just glad I escaped high school alive, didn't kill myself in despair, and went on to college, in an age where it was a learning experience to be an adult, not a spoiled brat, and it was perfectly acceptable to tell the spoiled brats to "F$$% off" and go on with your education. Unlike today, where the examples of spoiled brats are legion and includes most of the so called teachers. If I was 18 in college today, without the perspective of a lifetime, I might burn it down in self defense. Thank the deity of your choice that we missed the End of Civilization as kids. You live in New York, and are a Registered Democrat. How many protest have you shown up at? How many phone calls to your Representatives? How many letters you write and send off? My Senator doesn't care to answer my polite letters urging votes he opposes. I do send them. I have a printer and support the USPS. I buy stamps. I'm already on record opposing most of the stuff he likes, and I sure don't advocate violence of any kind. Otoh, telling someone to grow up may be considered violence by the snowflakes, but hurting their feelings isn't a federal crime, yet. So I do retail antisubversion. Talk to store managers, politely. Treat everyone like rational thinking people, until they prove otherwise, then laugh at them. Cursing, yelling, anger, that just feeds their psychopathy. Laughter punctures ego. As to New York, I feel I'm stuck here as long as I have relatives to care for. Also there's a bit of petulant defiance involved. 2 Governors in a row have told everyone who disagrees with them to leave THEIR State. Screw them. When I'm the last one, I'm moving. Somewhere with less taxes and more freedom. Iirc there's more than 40 states that qualify. Suggestions welcome. I'm registered in a Party to vote in their primaries. Sure, the Klan Party primary for President is an ad campaign without giving us peasants a lot of say, but my county doesn't have a Soros DA in part because of my vote. Sure, it's a millionth kind of fraction of good, but it's real and legal. And there's some poor National Party employee who has to read my text response to the Party Billionaires asking me for money who gets a nice, polite question each time asking when the Party will once again support free speech and stand for the working citizen. That person gets a little history lesson with references. Might do some good. I do have the Real Question coming up. Which Party's candidates are more important to be voting for in the 2024 primary? I have to choose in a few months. I welcome your opinion. | ||

Well, AWESOME! While you may or may not care, I am glad you are doing all those things. Your letters may not get answered, but I'm betting they do get read and filed away. My Senator doesn't ever respond to my opinions either, but he or his staff reads them. I applaud you sincerely for talking to store managers. The vast majority of store managers just don't care, but every once in awhile you will get one who will listen. I understand most managers are over worked and understaffed, so talking to customers is not their favorite thing to do, but sometimes is necessary. I understand your reasoning in voting in Democrat Primaries, but feel it's an underhanded thing to do. It's inherently dishonest in my opinion, if you have no intention of voting for them in the general election. I would encourage you to vote for the person(s) you want to win in the general election, or at the very least the person(s), you both like and feel have the best chance to win, regardless of which party they belong to. As a Registered Republican, I will vote in the Republican Primary. As to who I'm voting for, that has yet to be determined, as do the participants. My dog needs to potty, so I'm gonna leave it at that. | ||

Underhanded? Perhaps. In some states the D Party asks loyal voters to vote in the primary for the R candidate they think is easier to beat. Dirty politics, but legal. They expect a Party line vote In the general, too. In other states, like here, if I registered independent, I'd have no say in any primary. And since in a Presidential election unless there's a Tsunami or Asteroid Strike, the Big Apple dominates the vote, the Only input I have is in a primary. Local elections I have the same say as anyone, given local demographic. So my rationalization is I get one, legal, vote against the worst choice in my opinion, and I have to choose which Party needs sanity more that cycle. ( assuming I am the sane person... Not proven, but golly, compared to a Governor who openly tells people to leave if they disagree with any thing he & she want, it's how I bet  ) So if switching Party at perceived need is underhanded, then ok, call it that, I'm not insulted, just playing by the rules others imposed. I point out that my punishment is getting 5+ text messages a day in election season, from very rich people, asking for money so they can crush any hope of their enemies winning. Plus the frustration of trying to shovel the tide. And the gamble that I chose the wrong Party to try to help not make a bad choice. Oh, darn, Hillary or Bernie? Or, say, Jeb or Mitt? Lesser evil? That's why I might have SMOD lawn sign this year. I don't recommend Party hopping as a recreational sport. Rather ride a motorcycle. | ||
