The real southerners are tough birds. I snapped the output shaft on my Benelli during the last good blizzard Indianapolis had. Tracey said that I have to go shovel the mother-n-laws drive. I said I'll throw the shovel on the himalayan and ride down there. | ||

Collecting parts for the next addition to Chirpy. An auto oiler for the chain and sprockets. I got a second front sprocket cover as I plan on drilling a hole in it and running a line to the front sprocket with the oiler mounted right over it. This is for oiling on longer trips. A quarter turn is good for 180 miles.     | ||

Very cool. I twice took a trip on a KLR650 from Arkansas to Kansas to Minnesota. An auto oiler would have been really nice! They make one for the KLR650, but I didn't want to spend the $$$. Have you ever considered / tried the WD40 Experiment? A guy named KLR CARRY, did it with good results. The theory being it's the dirt that erodes the chain, and keeping it really clean prolongs life. Never tried it myself, but I've always been curious about it. | ||

When I lived in the Mojave, I never oiled the chains on my bikes. Kept the sand from sticking to them. I stay out of the mud but ride in the rain. Main reason for my oiler is to lube the sprockets and keep rust off the chain. | ||

All the way up to 63° today. Most of the ice is melted. Wish I had a bike to ride. | ||

I changed monitor mounts and locations today. I can just move my eyes to see the monitor for cameras now.  Yalp, went ahead and spackled while it was down. May paint the one wall green or some other earth tone. I did bright red on one wall of the living room.  | ||
