I ended up with a flat tire this weekend and had to call AAA. I have the 250 mile from home tow for free. Well I was 117 miles from home. I was about 18 miles from the town of Bridegport Ca highway 395 highway 108 area. I called them at 9:45am and did not get picked up until 3:45. The mistake I made, was waiting about 2 and a half hours before I called back to see what was going on. I could not get a straight answer from anyone at AAA, I made at least 7 calls trying get any info. The kick in the ass was, even though I was well with in 250 miles free tow range, AAA has that area listed as Southern Ca, even though it is far away from the Southern, northern border. So my 250 mile free tow home, was now going to cost me $460 out of pocket and AAA pays $500 of the tow charge. So I ended up having them tow the bike to a friends house in Bridgeport and spent the night. No one in town had tire plugs that was open. So I ended up getting some plugs at the local napa store and drove the 150 miles back home. I found out that the tow truck was just a hour away.

Not that this helps but I carried a (small) Nealey tire plug kit and slime air pump under the seat of my Ulysses for 12 years and never used it on the road... just say'n.

I feel your pain. I don't have AAA. When you are signed into BadWeb, you have access to Buell Rider Assistance Network (BRAN).

I had a plug kit, but the plugged failed and the tire went flat so fast, by the time a pulled over, the bead had broken. The bike was fully fueled and had camping gear on it too. My air pump can't seat a tubeless tire.
Has anyone had success seating the bead with Co2 cartridges?

For those who store plugs on their bike, those rubber plugs will go stale after a few years.

Seeing as how the BRAN hasn’t been updated in 11 years, it may not be of much help. It took me a while to even find it:

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/boar d-auth.cgi?file=/42/42.html&lm=1647908106

It’d be great if it could be updated. I just did a quick review of the few people I know on the list; several have sold their Buells, at least a couple have moved to different states and one has passed on. I’d imagine that’s typical of the listings, and I’d bet many of the phone numbers have changed.

The simplest thing might be to just start a new list with current Badwebbers willing and able to help.

My BRAN info is out of date. Wrong phone number, amongst other things.

Throw out a plug for American Motorcycle Association membership. The free benefit of their Roadside Assistance Program covers motorcycles, trailers, tow rigs, etc. Lock-outs, breakdowns, batteries, fuel and towing.

Had to use it a few times, very satisfied.

No incentive to post this other than being a satisfied customer. . .
