NPR has just the bestest, short obit for the fella. Sometimes not a lot needs to be said. And to Louie's quote on why he believed in "grieving openly"... wow. I'm with him 100%.

Friday I got to listen to his archived interview with Terry Gross. 100% recommended. What an intellect, a dedicated man to his craft, what a soul. A very moving and thought-provoking piece.
