Oldog... I'm thinking he's worked out a DIY fabricated Uni-Go setup.

BRAINS. RD, hoping/planning on riding down in May to see that rig. IF you wanna stop by, let me and M know. We will cook dinner.

I have started the process of making a hitch mounting assembly to bolt to the bike frame. It will provide pivot point for the differences in pitch between the bike and trailer. I want that pivot to happen behind the lower portion of the license plate on the bike. I have the tubes cut that house the bearings, and the bearings. They are 1.375"OD x 0.625 ID. I have ordered a 5/8-11x10" grade 8 bolt to act as the axle for the pivot. Plans for now is to secure it with a nyloc nut.

This is how I make a one time use jig:

This is where it rides. There are a few more braces that go in. I will tack them in. then take it all apart and complete the welding and paint it black:

I've had people say they would make stuff if they had a shop. I make a lot of stuff in the back yard.

I still have parts being shipped in. May as well commit to the new design and mate the hitch to it's new pivot location:

I use the hose clamps to keep my saw from wondering off:

Committed to it now. The angles on the plates have been tweaked.

Alignment prior to welding will be fun with screws and wood, but that's for another day.

The title came in the mail today!

Weld and paint:

Last 2 braces and mount:

This is becoming a long project. First home built vehicle I ever got a title for. I am waiting for the hooks for the safety chains. There are hoops for them under the fender. I will secure them along the way, so that if one comes loose, they will not be able to snag a spoke.

On the getting lucky part. I snagged a 30" wooden farm door for my pantry for free. It is the last door to do in my house and they are all replaced with what Tracey and I wanted. Then I looked on Marketface and there is a Pelican 1620 case listed for $10. I figure they forgot a zero, but even that would be a crazy deal. All they wanted was $10, snagged! It doesn't have the foam. I would have removed it anyway. LUCKY!

What is so special about this door? It is a three window that is only 30" wide. Tracey and I have been searching for it for going on 3 years. I found one in 32" for our garage and mounted the stained glass from the back door that was on our first house, but could not locate this unicorn. I was beginning to think I was going to have to hand make one. Then poof , just out of the blue it appears for free. I hung it today. It will be massaged and painted white. I'll hang some of the stained glass pane we have collected along the way. Then Tracey can make stained glass pictures for it in her leisure.

How do you un-warp 1/8" aluminum plate when it is shipped to you warped? Spend good money throwing more aluminum at it. Adding structure it didn't need. I could have ordered 1/16th sheet if I wanted to put angled pieces on it.
Took out 3/16" of bow.

I was a little bummed when the wide white wall went away. Call me nostalgic.

But seeing this "Hoosier (Daddy?)" stenciled marking, this dude - once again - abides!

So, the thought I had was to run a relay with a timer function, so that when I turned on the fuel pump to transfer fuel to the main tank, I would not forget to tun it off. That is to keep from burning out my fuel moving pump. I now have another plan. I plan on tapping the horn circuit. I will make the wires from the relay switchable. Position #1 runs the power from the relay to the horn. Position #2 runs the power from the relay to the transfer pump. When I push the horn button it will run the horn or pump. Not both. That way the fuel pump only runs if I have the horn button depressed. When I let go the pump stops. I may put an LED on the bars so I know If the circuit is live or dead.
