We bought my wife’s 2012 Yukon XL about three years and, overall, it’s been okay. Other than a transmission failure, it’s been normal maintenance items. We were planning on trading it in, so the dealer performed a CarFax and it wasn’t great. In 2017 it was 80k, then the next oil change it showed 52k. I was hoping it was an issue with the mileage reported at one or two oil changes, but It has counted up since then. Between the rollback and the associated information about that, the diminished value of around $6000, is it worth going after the dealer? | ||

It’s a crime to roll back an odometer. It’s also a crime to make a false statement about an odometer representing actual mileage, which is part of title transfers. I’d get the authorities involved. | ||

My Buell has a custom Motogadget instrument clustel where I set the desired mileage myself and I do not use dealer service to maintain the vehicle so I am the only one who tracks and determines the mileage of the vehicle. (Message edited by TPEHAK on November 07, 2021) | ||

Take it back to the dealer you bought it from. Say nothing. Try a trade deal with them. See how it goes. Maybe they will give you evidence against themselves. | ||
