The International motorcycle shows are back after a few years away, interesting new location in Northern California as it’s at Sonoma/Sears point raceway… looks like there will be lots of new things with the popularity of side by sides and electric bicycles… I’ll be going probably Friday to scope it out and check out the vendors and Saturday for demo rides…who else is going? |

So…. was a really cool show, went Friday and Saturday and did what I wanted to do, I test rode 8 motorcycles Friday and 9 Saturday! All but two test rides were on two lane public roads near the track, about 15-25 miles loops …. I rode 6 different harleys, 4 different Indians, a Suzuki hayabusa, a Yamaha mt10, an electric Zero sport bike, a Kawasaki side by side 4x4 up the side of the big hill at Sears point, and I got to ride the Livewire three different times! I was darn impressed with the livewire, I topped it out at 115mph which one of the livewire demo workers confirmed was the shut off speed. I’m not sure if it’s worth the $29,999 but sure was neat silent riding with a WHIRRRR when getting on the throttle! So strange with no shifter and no clutch and the “heartbeat” vibrations through the seat when at a dead stop! If the Fuell Fllow is anything like it I can’t wait to get the one I put a $500 deposit on back in 2019! Also took two short test rides on the Serial One electric bicycle, the Harley offshoot for pedal power… again neat but how the F*#+ do they charge $5000 for a bicycle that only assists you when pedaling, neat for hills, but disappointed that no actual throttle and the max of 20 mph assist. Definitely check out the shows if they come close to where you are! |
