Sounds like I'm FINALLY going to get the court papers proclaiming me as the Executor of her Estate. Took long enough...

DANG it and Praise Be. When I had to run around all of Tampa figuring out all my dad's stuff... whew. What a bugger of an ordeal. I do remember at the end of it all feeling a decent sense of having done something constructive and moving forward with things.

Still not fun, but it will be progress. Things WILL get better. Post up as things happen, brudder.

Mmmkaay then.

Jaime, how are things? Been a minute... hope you are well. Looking to get a finished product to Reg in the next few days, already built a skeleton of a great story.

Holler as you are able, my friend.

As expected, Valentine's Day SUCKED. Still have moments that hit me out of the blue. I can never predict what will trigger me. Hanging in there the best I can. Thanks for checking up on me.

Sucked, and hopefully succinct, was your doofustupid cupid day. Sorry, my friend. It is, again I'll say, a tribute to your love for her. Focus on the love you have, not your anguish.

I went today to get groceries with the PC800, before a fairly decent 75-80 mile ride out to the Gap and back. Our grocer had $1 half-dozen roses for sale! Bought the prettiest set... as soon as M started to clip and prep for the vase, all the heads fell off... ! I just told her to collect the petals... and then I threw them out in the yard, down our walkway.
I find it hard to throw away beauty, even old or damaged beautiful things. M says I'm a pack-rat... yes, for certain things. ; )

Spring is coming... see if you can roll south when it gets warm! Suches beckons!

Here's Darrell Scott at 3rd and Lindsley, in Nashvegas... years ago I kinda dated the bar manager there... mmkay, that was fun. Oh well. Darrell Scott and Danny Thompson came to the Shed years later, I guess, 2006... guess who was commissioned to lead them on a scenic tour of the local countryside...? No faster than 50-55 mph. Gawd I was bored.

Facebook kills me. It brings up "memories" every now and then and of COURSE most of them involve my wife. At first I'll smile at the memory... and then I fall apart when I realize it will never happen again... Today was a reminder of a cruise we took on the Norwegian Dawn out of New York City. It was the first time we had a cabin with a balcony but since it was February in New York, our two days at sea (one on the way down to Florida, and one on the way back from Florida) were FREEZING. She was DETERMINED to take advantage of the fresh sea air on the balcony so she wrapped herself up in the blankets from the bed to lie outside.

Hah! Sounds like something I'd do. No damn way I'd NOT find a way to hang out on the balcony, breathe in that salty air. Great pic, Jaime... thanks for sharing. I know what a toll it's taking to do so.

Maybe it's like a giant band-aid that you can't just rip off your body... gotta take the time to do it right and not bleed any more, sometimes stop and just go find the salve, maybe a ibuprofen or something.

Time and perseverance, the greatest warriors, once said Tolstoy. ; )

Hey...

I'll parse things here a bit, Jaime. Posted below is a review of a movie I intend to go see, with Marcia. "Cyrano", with Peter Dinklage, et al.
I post this for and to you, in hopes that it might help... you be the judge. The review itself might be tricky for you... but all the actors, players, musicians, EVERY person I read about sounds damn awesome.

I will be buying two tickets, my friend... but, for you, caveat emptor. Tambien... carpe diem!! ; )

Hey Jaime. Keep in touch- I'm going forward with a decidedly minimum use of Badweb from now on, if I don't just leave it behind for good. Trolls have taken over, and no one seems to give a damn.

I count you as one of several friends here, I do have emails and stuff. But the blatant and flagrant disregard of civil discourse that has become pervasive is a bit too much for me. Like Pwnzor, I have better things to do than waste time looking at such base stupidity. All I really give a damn about is the humor here, which is also devolving.

Fare thee well, sir and friend. Hope to ride with you one of these days.

Mike and I had separate Facebook accounts so I was able to put his on memorial status. I understand you can register your late spouse on the Deceased Do Not Contact list of the DMAchoice.org website to reduce junk mail to them but I have not done that yet, maybe someday.

It's been a long convoluted road made longer by the pandemic, but at least Mike's reverse mortgage has approved me as a surviving spouse so I don't have to move out, ever. It reminds me of the Black Muddy River lyrics: "Black muddy river, roll on forever. I don't care how deep and wide if you got another side." Maybe I am nearly there. I plan on holding Mike's memorial in April, hopefully between covid variants so all the different sides of the family can meet.

Progress: I don't automatically cry when I think about her. Sometimes I even smile when I think about the times we shared together. Not often... but it's a start.

Good to hear, Jaime. Gerard, sorry for your loss... somehow I didn't catch that you and Jaime might be in similar boats, so to speak.

I wish both of you a more easy path going forward, with fewer step-stones that might be off angle as you walk. Eyes up... not only for riding motorcycles. ; )

I think I'm doing okay. The whole experience changed me a bit, I see things from a different perspective now. Over the past year I've been taking things pretty slowly and when I look back at our time together, I see different things in the both of us. It makes me miss him in entirely new ways which is a melancholy sort of thing but it is all part of the human experience, we all suffer and grow.

Melancholy. Disenfranchisement from oneself and what one had with another. Divestment. Life. Pain and suffering, with the hard-earned ability to carry your chin upwards, then the eyes. As one may watch God.

Here lately I've been dealing with more stress than I've expected on this timeline. Losing D'Ogee on Christmas Eve wasn't good for me, nor much of the past two years + experience either. I've been trying my best to avoid negativity- both produced by myself, and, from external sources.

I try to follow in my sister's footsteps. She's closer to God than I am... but I do my level best. I count on all youn's here as friends, although many here discount me because of politics. F&ck all that. We are all in this together. I'll fight for any true friend of mine. Jaime, et al, do know this, and you are welcome at my table anytime.

To quote George Satayana... "To be interested in the changing seasons is a happier state of mind than to be hopelessly in love with spring."

Also: "The only calibration that counts is how much heart people invest, how much they ignore their fears of being hurt or caught out or humiliated. And the only thing people regret is that they didn't live boldly enough, that they didn't invest enough heart, didn't love enough. Nothing else really counts at all." Ted Hughes

This past Saturday would've been my wife's 69th birthday. This coming Thursday should've been our 10th wedding anniversary. Coupled with this being the third Mother's Day without my mother and May is a particularly rough month for me.

Saturday I spent the day binge-watching her four favorite movies:
Best In Show
Midnight Run
Young Frankenstein
My Cousin Vinny

The fact that they're all comedies helped. She loved those four movies.

Wow. Marcia's fave movie is My Cousin Vinny... one of my alltime faves is Young Frankenstein. I'll have to look up the other two... surely I've seen then, just not remembering.

As to your getting inked- I say do it. I've a scar on my left forearm that I've already got some ideas for... it'd be much better to "decorate" it than just have nothing. We shall see... maybe someday.

Glad to see you posting up... still hoping to get a good ride in with you when the time comes. Weather here in TN is AWESOME today... might ride out for a while a bit later today.

I remember when we saw "Best in Show" in the theater. She was absolutely HOWLING at the movie and everyone else in the theater was looking at her and wondering what was so funny.

After we left, she told me whoever wrote that screen play had an intimate familiarity with the dog show circuit. She said she recognized every single character type represented in that movie. A little background information: Denise was an AKC judge, and in the past bred and showed Pointers.

I found it amusing, but she LOVED it. Years later we were listening to a radio program and one of the people had said "'Best In Show' wasn't a movie... it was a DOCUMENTARY!"

I'm not positive, but I THINK "Midnight Run" may've been DeNiro's first foray into comedy.

Today was supposed to be our tenth wedding anniversary. This was taken on our wedding day; our first ride together as "Husband and Wife."

Husband and Wife

Sadly, that was the LAST time we rode together on that bike. Even then she had to load up on painkillers to make the trip into and back out of Manhattan.

She always swore that she'd be well enough to go touring with me again, but every year her poor body got worse and worse. Outside of a couple of short rides to dinner and movies on the scooter (which was easier for her to mount and dismount), we never toured together again.

The last time I rode her was when I took her ashes home from the funeral home after her memorial service.

God I miss her so much!

Hang in there my friend. Reflect on all the great times with her... and pet the cat.

My sis lost one of her two cats about two months ago... just adopted a second cat/kitten, with a 2/3 amputated rear leg. Sis is doing better with the extra cat mayhem.

Again... ride that K bike down here one day and I'll show you the local spots! : )
