Installed new rear rubber on the EBR Saturday, but valve check is due in about 400 miles, so I’m leaning towards bringing the Uly.

The EBR is a little more fun in the twisties, but I can do a lot more miles on the Uly without feeling like I’ve been on a medieval torture machine.

~3 weeks to go…

You can even charge your EV if you drive/ride one!

Hope things are going well Hugh. I've had this trip on the radar this year. I've been adjusting and adapting to my reality, and I believe I could have ridden the Uly the distance.

I was halted by ol' Ma Nature again. This time it seems that lightening struck too close to my RV last weekend. It's my home at the moment. It was freaky odd. Any thing powered by or hooked to AC current fried.
The drive train, 12 volt, propane, and water systems are ok. And I put out three little fires before the smoke got to anything.
So no shore power for AC , generator fried, microwave, tv's, heaters, etc.

I'm kinda busy. Sleeping with no air sucks.

Wow, Vern! That’s some seriously bad luck. Lightning can do some freaky things. Just glad it didn’t get you. Sure sorry you didn’t make it.

One of my niece’s husband was laying on a concrete slab in a garage when lightning struck a tree ~20 yards away. He got a pretty good tingle from it, and didn’t feel right, so he went to the ER. They said his heart rhythm was off and kept him for a couple of hours until it finally returned to normal.

My house got hit by lighting, starting a fire which caused about 65K worth of damage before the fire department put it out. The aftermath of a destructive strike is not fun to deal with.

Good luck in getting everything straightened around and replaced. Try not to get too frustrated, and take a break when needed.

Oh, yea. Here’s a better photo of one of the Rivian electric pickups that came by on Wednesday. Interesting vehicles.

This one has a slide-out cabinet (you can see it between the rear door on the cab and the bed) that included an electric cooktop and a sink. Pretty convenient for truck camping.
